the song might not have a happy ending, but Eminem and Rihanna both escaped the cycle 😊 so there's that. these two were perfect for this song.

Me and my ex-husband dated 3 1/2 years and not one time was he abusive. However there were red flags I chose to ignore them. We got married and he turned into someone I didn't know. Abusive not just physically but emotional and mental abuse. That was 25 years ago and I was able to escape this relationship not only for me but for my daughter. Even after 10 years of counseling it still effects me to this day though. The mental part of it was the hardest. I always say I could handle the physical because it would end but the mental and emotion stays with me. I'm lucky today because I was able to find someone who treats me like a queen. It's amazing. This song hits me hard though. Thank you for reacting to it.

Did you participate in any of the negative behavior or was it all him?
@Karen-pk3uv Жыл бұрын
@@ChrisRJsince your question seems like one that should be answered... In my case, my participation began with ignoring litteral warnings I received from my brother, dad and friends when I started dating him. I believed my older brother was just uncomfortable with me dating his friend, but would get past it. I thought my Dad was continuing to be invasive and controlling or just didnt like the age gap. I thought my friend was being manipulated by her sister. F**k at 17 years old, i fully believed HE WAS JOKING when he LITERALLY told me how easy it was to manipulate me right before he kissed me for the first time. Between those thoughts, beliefs and other red flags (he despised my mom, threatened to throw me out and take my dogs since the house was in his name and beagles don't make good apartment dogs, introducing him to my extended family terrified me, lying, cheating, etc) my mind became so twisted around that on some level I constantly felt like I had to defend myself but didn't know/understand why. So id lash out and try to say or do things I thought would hurt his feelings. My pride and fear wouldn't allow me to leave for years. If it werent for the looks on people's faces when he publicly complained that I didn't ask him before i dyed my hair I doubt i would've left. To this day, it still feels so stupid that changing my hair color was my last straw.

I've experience this a little recently (not me specifically, my housemate); his girlfriend at our place (who he has a kid with), an argument escalating into hysterical yelling and screaming and she gets physical. I can't untangle their problems or help their mentality so when it gets like that i stand between them and stop the physical advances (she threatened to hit me and taunted him for allowing me to stand between them once). Im anxious person who is not a fan of conflict, i cant imagine actually being in a relationship where you get physical with each other - its so toxic and i would never want to hurt my partner. :/ At least for the sake of a kid, you should try not to let it escalate so much.
@FamiliarPresenc32 жыл бұрын
Outside of these fights, shes seems nice and amiable. I tried to tell her while i was between their fight once that 'you aren't going to get anything out of this, nothing good will come of this', and she acknowledged it after i said it a few times, an angry 'i know', but said something like 'itd feel fucking good'. People really need therapy lmao, im grateful for people like Tom here who have a passion for their job in helping others.

Music my whole life , I remember listening since 1967( I was in rubber pants)…and grew up hear the Rythm and sound of the instruments…. Then why I became a young adult…. Noticed what lyrics were actually meaning…it blew my mind how the adults allowed me to enjoy music… when I was a child and THEY KNEW what lyrics meant🤷🏻♀️. I appreciate all types of music… it depends on the song. This song brings me to tears because it’s toxic…. But the Rythm and beat of two creative talents…. 🎶💙👍🎶💙👍

And what’s crazy we automatically assume it’s about a relationship but I believe it’s about the music industry if you really SIT and listen to the words. “On the first page of our story the future seemed so bright ” … the first page of a recording contract usually has the advance and notes of course, all of the money you make and albums you’re required to create. “Though this thing turned out so evil”.. you’ve heard COUNTLESS artist/celebs say how evil and corrupt the industry can be … need I go on?
