Oh yeah, if anyone ever got the perspective that Em was the only one who was abusive in that relationship, they're wrong. They were mutually toxic, but also clearly incredibly in love with each other, but also with their children too. It gets harder when you get kids obviously to leave someone like that.

Caitlyn - man, I know exactly how hard it is to not only get out of an abusive relationship but also how not to fall back into another. Plus, dang it - for me it at times it was as if my PTSD kicked in and I was in a video watching myself with my kids while this butthead was trying to verbally etc knock me down. I may not be someone that one should try to lay hands on me or knock me down with nasty words because I will stand up for myself, my children and friends, and I stand tall and hard…until I am alone again in a room and dang, out come the jello legs!

Rhianna was a victim of an abusive relationship and Eminem...well..we know he had his issues as well. Eminem writes his own songs...he won't use industry ghostwriters! He wrote the lyrics and Rhianna said "He wrote them so accurately"!!! The way he described it was just so..realistic! I know Eminem never saw or grew up with an example of a healthy relationship! I dont know much about Rhianna's life...other than ...thankfully she did get out of her bad relationship! With Eminem a lot of the abuse was him clapping back at her with verbal abuse through his lyrics! They did have a few times when things got out of control....sadly. Abuse comes in many forms...

Rihanna said she felt she had to get out for all the little girls seeing what happened, they cant think that it's ok or normal. Which is sooo relatable, i got out because i saw the statistics on children witnessing abuse going on to be abusers or be abused. Sometimes you need to think of others and not how you feel about that person. Its alot easier to acknowledge it's not healthy for those you care about rather than yourself. PS, Love the way you lie Part 2 for Rihanna's part

@@ReactionTherapyOfficial Gotta agree with Jeremiah Kleimola on this. Of all the reactions you have done, and I have seen so many, this was so good, I believe your best. I grew up up in foster care around this but have escaped it in my adult life. We do not allow behavior like this at home and ended up evicting my daughter's best friend for slapping her. As an adult I don't abide such behavior though my other daughter was in a toxic relationship for years. When she finally left she went into another toxic relationship. This is a favorite song of hers so when I shared your reaction to it and tagged her in it. Keep up the great work this is one of the best things I found on KZbin, by mistake? We didn't have any essays on music (story esseys mostly) but like there was few years everyone would bring a song and everyone would rate it and then see who wins. More lax kinda day. I took Like Toy Soldiers and the teacher was a bit mad since there is some cursing in it (I was in third grade I think, like 8-9 years old) and I got last in the competition, not even by disqualifying but points. Funny thing was that there was this oldold mtv type of channel that only played music videos and after Like Toy Soldier started to play heavy on there, everyone came to say to me how they actually like the song a lot suddenly now. It was so funny that they just gave it 0 points and week later are jamming to it when the video came out and it's super popular 😂 Just a funny memory. Next year I on purpose just from spite brought a song that I knew would win and it did, there were couple pupils who got into their feelings yelling I don't even like the song as I would be cheating 😂 (I actually did like it but it wasn't something I would have brought to show my taste in music, I just wanted to make it clear how it's just a popularity contest of what song was on heavy exposure thru differend mediums back then available and from those songs pick one that boys and girls both would give points to). Fun times

This song came out not long after I left my husband of 15 years. He was an alcoholic, drug addict, and very abusive and manipulative. He told me he was bi-polar, but later he was diagnosed as schizophrenic, then with borderline personality disorder. I finally left and ended up broke and homeless with my three kids. It was the best choice I ever made. I've been on my own since then. I just didn't trust I could make the right choice in a new partner and I didn't want my kids to suffer again for my mistakes. No regrets. Only a life of happiness, free from abuse and pain. This song hit hard for me when it came out. Eminem is a genius. I've been a huge fan from day one.

Honestly guys, nobody deserves it more than you and Nick - such a special message you’re spreading and your energy is infectious!!! Skylar gray (from I Need A Doctor) had already written the chorus, took it to Em and he wrote the rest of the track. Him and Rihanna then recorded it! Gen Z (or whatever it’s called!) had a campaign going last year to ‘cancel’ Em because of this track - they said it promoted and glamorised domestic violence and portrayed it as acceptable behaviour! What nonsense!!!! (And if they were going to cancel him for song lyrics he’d written 15 years ago - there are much worse ones than this lol!!!) Sending love guys! ❤️

That's ridiculous that they'd want to cancel this song... if anything it actually highlights toxic relationships and none of the lyrics ever try to justify domestic or $exual violence. It just let people in and gave them front row seats to a horror show that is sadly a percentage of people's real world relationships. It showed the manipulation, toxicity, violence, co-dependency, gaslighting, and how the victim can develop a type of Stockholm Syndrome for their abusive partner. Yet again, awesome reaction! Love your channel and keep up the awesome content! 💚

"Just leave, just end it" it sounds so easy, but let's not gloss over that leaving an abuser is extremely scary and DANGEROUS! The time shortly after leaving is when an abuser is most likely to become a murderer. To people who have never been with an abuser it seems so easy, it's really hard to get out, emotionally, financially, physically, all hard. Abusers are great at making sure you feel loved long enough to get you isolated, financially dependent on them, and trapped (ie married or baby) before they show their true self. The good times are fake, they're actors, they're pretending to be romantic and kind and all that, it's all a manipulation tactic. The nasty side is the real them.

I don't want someone crazy or sane. I just want someone to stand by me qnd pick me up when I fall. I do the same for them. She has to understand I am on a path that is dark full of pain

Crazy chooses crazy...etc. Wow that is great advise! Wish someone would have told me this 30+ years ago would have saved me 9yrs of misery. I think you could also say sick people choose sick people. If one of you starts to get better that it can't be sustained. If you need help get it! If your partner is the who needs help, get out and don't return until they prove they have changed. You deserve better!!! The best thing my ex ever did for me was leave. Though I didn't think that at the time. Now, I thank God that he did.

You said that 'you don't know who wrote this song' If this song was originally Marshall's song, im fairly certain that he writes every single song he sings.

Great breakdown... I escaped an abusive relationship 7 years ago.. was in it for 10 years.. my life has drastically changed. I honestly owe it all to God. When I had nothing left I heard His voice down on my knees and desperate. I didn't know what I was going to do. I walked out the front door with no money and a suitcase, 5 months pregnant, and left everything behind. I was homeless for 7 months.. living in a shelter. I have now been very happily married for 3 years and have a successful career and a healthy household. Thank you Jesus for leading me!

So.... what's your advice? For "crazy" to pick "crazy" so they can be together... or for "normal" to pick "crazy" to give them a chance?

The worst is that people who have those tendencies listen to this music in anger will do it.. Just like his song Stan.. Abuse is many forms most stay because the partner is a narcissist or has narcissistic behavior..

You just almost got the other meaning of the "window pain" verse. It could also be "window pane". The framing or pane around a window.

My friend's aunt was murdered last Saturday, by her abusive husband. She was 41 years old, and had 8 kids; 4 of them are very young. He killed her, then killed himself afterwards. You're right. People need to leave a heavily toxic situation when they can. Because if they choose to stay or keeping going back, that could be a fatal choice.

Em did a collaboration on a Jessie Reyez song called Coffin which takes a toxic relationship all the way to a bad conclusion for both individuals if you are interested in that. (kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipelkomXqseWr9k) there's no video, only audio because it came out during the pandemic. i hope they do a video someday.
