It reminds me of getting a job in Australia at the first time! I actually went around whole Sydney CBD with my resume. When I gave my resume to a cafe in the Rocks for the first time, I felt like it was the most nerve-racking moment in my entire life XD.

In Australia you need to have ages of experience even for the most no brain job that you can possible imagine. Also, you need a certificate for everything! Sending resumes through Gumtree or seek won't get you anything. You have to call, you have to go in person, and always always talk with the manager or supervisor, if you hand over your resume to one of the staff they will put your resume in the rubbish as soon as you leave.

U cant complain, its stonishing how Mallorca (spain) is. not one job. crisis, no money, nothing. it may be one of the worst places to find job in Span, or even South Europe. I want to travel to Australia, to find some kind of fun travelling and job. I thnk it should be easier than in my 1Millon habitants island. Australia not even 30Million, 1000 times bigger.

Tristan Voros I've tried applying for Vancouver for over 2 years and there system and regulations to get a visa to live or working visa is a joke . Your British citizen and you end up doing English test to see if you speck English really . And when I went over there's holiday I'm finding out there's 15% white ,10% black then 75% of Asian that don't speck clear of English. I don't mind that system what's the best candidate in there country but it has to make sense and stop chopping and changing for people wanted to live there.

Just a warning for those potentially moving to Perth, Western Australia: there are only an abundance of jobs when a mining boon is underway. A mining boon happens once every 4 years and disappears for 2. In that time, expect to find little, or no mid/entry level jobs. I've been through about 4 of them now and I'll be honest: they hurt. I'm trying to escape Perth in fact, but Its tough. Cheers mates - a broke Aussie looking for work haha

Dear psycho girl ! We are a couple from Israel, traveling in Australia (the sentence you always first read in your messages right?). We used very very too much your videos to understand how to enjoy our Work and Holiday Visa. Now we are renting an appartment in Cairns, looking for a job in a Cattle Station or Horse farm (got experience in horses), and we wondered how much did they pay you and for how many hours of work, while you were working on this beautiful sheep station in the outback ? They try to pay us less than the minimum wage, always. Like the best offer we got until now (after a week) was 600$/week for 9 hours of work 5/7 days. Bad, right ? Thank you for your advice and time ! Enjoy your amazing life ! Sacha and Sam PS = WE ARE BIG FANS.

Lol, you are just one funny fella. Everything you say I think is right! My High school Classmate's younger brother was an Electrical Engineer with 3 years experience in Electrical Design and Installation here in the Philippines. When he migrated to Australia together with his Sister, my HS classmate, they settled in Perth. Three years later he is still jobless. Most of the time they prefer Aussies as their employees over immigrants. Though there are some companies hiring immigrants there but very few in numbers. Most of the time the job postings are taken within a day after posting. He is currently applying for back packing jobs but still, most of the time they prefer Aussies or any other Western immigrants to do their jobs. I feel everyone's' struggles, Aussies or immigrants. In this world of globalization getting a job is indeed a challenge.

I love what you said “it is all about who you know” ;-) The true is: yes, you may get a job & still don’t know anyone in the city, but the easiest way is to connect with others! If you don’t know anyone in Australia check out all blogs, vlogs …all social media!!!. There are plenty of people ready to talk ;-) Good luck everyone & see you in Australia!

Why did you not mention how cool living in the outback can be while working the many jobs on offer there? The wildlife, landscapes, being able to see billions of stars at night. They're the kind of memorable experiences you can have that are very different to the place you came from. I don't think Australian cities are that much different to other cities around the world, why be in such a hurry to stay there?

Great Tips, and I totally agree AND there are LOTS of jobs out here in Regional Parts of Australia, its just that Travellers don't seem to know how to access them AND I can tell you as an employer looking for staff in a part of Australia with skills shortages (Darwin), its incredibly frustrating. So IF your a skilled IT Worker, send me your application, I may not allways have vacancies, but I often do. See my details at the bottom. I'm a direct employer & because I'm in a Regional Area of Australia (ie not one of the big cities), we are often seeking to recruit skilled IT & Marketing Staff for our IT Services Business, we have employed and sponsored staff from various english speaking countries with great sucess in the past, so I'm open to receiving applcations. (covering email & resume REQUIRED, also DO NOT TRY PHONE ME as the first step is allways to see your skills, abilities & your covering email gives me an idea if you have english communication skills). So if your skilled in IT, or Marketing, please feel free to email me an application, I will only get back to you if we have a suitable role at the time, allthough I do also keep a database of prospective candidates, Also don't forget to find me on LinkedIn and send a connect request, as I've got a lot of Australian industry contacts with will also help your search. Hi Allie! I wanted to read your blog post about using gumtree to find work but the site doesn't seem to be working. Just wondering if you could fill me in on how you wrote the ad you posted! Also, the big thing I need to figure out right now is whether to land in Brisbane and look for work there or focus more on rural postings and move around a little. The main reason I am going to Oz is to study in Brisbane briefly starting in May. In order to do so I need to come up with several thousands of dollars and I have no savings right now even to come to Oz (by your 5000$ estimate) but I hoped to earn it there. I've watched all your videos which are super helpful by the way, but I heard you say you won't make much in rural areas or at hostels in the city which worries me! Though you will likely have accommodation covered, what would you suggest is the best way for me to pay the least to live and save the most in just a few months? Am I just needing a serious reality check or can I do this somehow!? Hoping to fly out by the end of February.
@PsychoTraveller

***** Sorry, my website it down at the moment as I am redeveloping it :) You will earn enough to save in rural areas because everything you make, you can't spend! So it's perfect if you struggle to save! You will need some finances to start with though. Australia is expensive, so try and save as much as you can! :)

Im Australian, most jobs here taken by students and working holiday because cheap pay, then people ask centrelink, then they complain or say we are lazy, very clever government! when you apply they ask blue, grey, black card, etc, licenses, etc, in this country even you fart needs license for safety from poisonous gas, they need experience this, that, when you see they do their job all they do just chit chat, hihihi with mates, lazy, you need to speak Australian gday mate, blonde , hihihi preferable than you talk with accent but clever & motivated, you need to graduate from TAFE which they care more than you are a professor cum laude from harvard and government never realise or dont give a stuff! so proud of themselves and other countries are rubbish for them, therefore they say the most lucky country in the world (?????😂🤣) what a system!!

Tanks for the vid it was helpful!! One thing I´d like to know, is it really that difficult to find job November/December time? I´m planning to go there very soon but I am a bit worried, for some backpackers say it´s a very difficult time to get a job. Though I´ve also heard that farm work is easy to get..

Great video, just wondering if an Oz cv is the same as a Cv over here in Britain? Or does a British Cv need tweaking? Coming over in September!

First I wanna thank you so mich. This was super helpful :) I'm from the U.S., n if you go in looking for a job it literally does you no good. The managers won't ever talk to u, even if you call everybody will say it's all online cuz it literally is. So what do you do exactly when you go into a place looking for a job? Do you really wanna talk to the manager or do you just talk about ur skills n what not. I just find it weird since again. In the U.s. everything is online

Hey! I read one of your posts from a while back about a horrible fruit picking scam, and im just wondering if you have any tips to avoid being scammed while trying to get the 88 days farm work? And how do we know if the farm work is authentic?
