Pt. 2 - Arkansas State Police Valentine's Day Pursuit & PIT

In this video, Trp. Martin (A-37) was wrapping up an accident scene on I-30eb/Mabelvale West. Saline County Deputies initiated a pursuit of a woman driving a maroon older model Ford F-150. The pursuit entered Pulaski County and traveled past Trp. Martin's accident scene. Trp. Martin joins the pursuit, and becomes the lead ASP unit. After travelling into the Little Rock Metro, Trp. Martin was able to PIT the truck at slow speeds on the Baptist Health exit from I-430N.

Actually it is a state law. Any pursuits that are on State/US/Interstate highways that involve multiple agencies, the State Police are required to take the lead.

I remember watching a video about half a year ago, and there was a wild driver who after several attempts to box him in, they decided to PIT him. But odds are the PITing unit will suffer damage. Radio, unknown LEO: OK, Who's going to PIT him? Radio, a Deputy (in almost a monotone): I've got the oldest unit..... (The PIT was something to behold! Into a barrier, across 4 lanes of Interstate, into a guardrail, and finally coming to a stop in the middle of the road! I think the truck spun around 3 and a half times!!!)

There was a police chase in downtown Little Rock and they called in ASP to pit the driver. The chase never entered the highway. ASP has a massive budget and can afford to fix their cars. I read a few years back that they're self insured but that could be wrong. City police run on tight budgets.

And some prosecutor will come along who is assigned the case and look to make an generous plea bargain so it goes down as another win in their conviction rate instead of pushing for the max like all prosecutors should do in these cases but they're cowards!

It’s really only when they have the channel ‘closed’ for emergency traffic for only the officers involved in the chase. That annoying beep lets the other officers know it’s closed. But I certainly agree with you 100%!! 😫

When the few of us that understand that the issue is due to lack of mental health care and cure the thought process that putting them in jail/prison is not only going to help them nut also get them treatment. So many people think that there is mental health treatment in prison/jail it's really upsetting that they even have that thought.
