I see your using a 35R key instead of a G key. Is their a transponder in the 35R?

On the side of the jaws their are tip stop gauges the flip up to correctly gauge the car key u want to duplicate you can’t use a caliper to set it just doesn’t work out

I actually got rid of it and bought xhorse Dolpline XP05 - V1.2.3 Xhorse Condor Dolphin XP-005 Key Cutting Machine based on Mobile Phone. I love it so far with almost no issue at all but only cut a few keys so far.

@@jamescc2010 i have the same one and im having problems with the key length too it goes in the ignition smooth but its not really easy to turn it i have to pull it out a piece of hair (a bit) then it would turn the ignition ON fine. I also have a 998c DEFU i only used it with Honda keys!

@@senanfouad7650 i block the key blade at each end of both vices and find i get a perfect key .. by blocking you get the right length of the blade that way you don't have to pull the key out of the ignition a fraction it stops that problem .. i hope this helps you .

I am stilling having hard with setting up the key for correct length wise with perfect cut, even using a caliper, but first key came out bad. Any advise or tools I can use to line keys up correctly with the guide? Also when I cut Toyota keys like 2013 Corolla, the keys were so close together with not room, and I lost one key b/c it hit the tracer before the machine stopped moving.

i have been using this machine for a fare while now and have found if i put the key in the vice and a blocker at the end of the vice to keep both keys the same length you get the same cut each side of the key also i run the key through three times each side every key i have cut since doing this has worked every time .. also i use a hacksaw blade to calibrate the cutting blade .. i find some keys have very deep cuts and the key will bend so putting a blocker at the end of each key vice helps to stop that from happening ..

I have a machine like yours the top guide is for standard keys gauging at the shoulder it has key stops on the side of the jaws just for the they flip up and down

I have the exact same key machine. It's not really made for cutting automotive keys. It's more for house keys or padlock keys that are single-sided. The cutting machine you need for car keys is the Defu 998C vertical cutting machine. I have one of those on order too. Also, can you tell me how many tools you got with your machine? All I got was the handle and one allen wrench. But the instructions show multiple allen wrenches and a leveling shim. Also, when you have a new machine, you shouldn't practice with expensive keys. Get some cheap house keys and practice with them. They are available on E-Bay.

the Defu 998C is for laser milling keys like the GM45 blade and the HU100 blade and are not for the toy43 blade that he is cutting

The 998C doesn't have the right key clamps for automotive double sides keys. You can blag it, but it's even more difficult than doing it on one of these. Both can do it, because both grind metal, but neither was natively built to. The correct type of hold down is on the 998A. If you check out the gold metal clamps, they have a holder at the front of the clamp to hover the key allowing the CNC style cutter to get to both sides.

You need a laser style cutter for that. There's actually some very cost effective ones on aliexpress. All in for under 200 dollars. Generally a little cheaper than horizontal machines.. For some reason. Some of the slightly higher end laser cutter machines have better clamping mechanisms that will let you also cut this style of automotive key, by gripping them and floating them, allowing access to both sides on the cnc style cutter. The Dolphin XP-007 will do both.. A little less long wearing for the cutter than these disc style ones though.

If it's a hole like in print, it has transponder chip in it. Your new key need to have transponder in it to start the car, you can program it to your car yourself.

There's a secret in using this kind of cheap machine. In addition to what you've done, using your caliper, measure the width of your original key near the handle and the tip. These measurements must be the same in your blank key. The distance of the tracer must be almost the same as that of the cutting wheel. I say almost the same because the depth of each cut of the valley must be a little bit shallower compared to the original and the width of the ridge of the new key must be a little wider compared to the original. Then proceed the cutting. After that you've got to compare your newly cut key with the original using your caliper regarding the height of each ridge and the depth of each valley. This means you have to use a small file to adjust each cut of the new key. In this way you can have a working new key.
