Vanilla Twilight is what really sold me on Owl City. Such a good song and filled with the lonely but hopeful lifestyle I live. I have Adam to thank for a lot of my emotional development. The live version of VT in his tour this year was also superb!

Already the second part so cooooool ! I've wrote it on the part one but hope you'll know that the tip of the iceberg build up melody is the same as cave in intro, it's adam signature melody

16:44 funny you guys mention that.. everything before all things bright and beautiful was done in reason - and the drums sound kinda hip hop because he actually did use some of the stock hip hop drum loops from reason in vanilla twighlight, also used a few in fireflies too. he uses tons of stock presets. there's this one vox pad he's used since of june called "atlantis", which sounds like an "ooh" panned hard right, an "ahh" panned hard left, and mono strings that fade in. he's used it in a billion songs all the way up to coco moon. you can hear it really well at the start of "plant life", and in that quiet bit towards the end of "if my heart was a house" before the final chorus.. once you hear it you don't unhear it!!

This is actually one of the reasons why I started using Reason to produce back in the day! I heard that Adam used it. Super cool! -Zach

The one line in Tidal Wave that gets me and makes me tear up… Depression please cut to the chase and cut a long story short. Also the instrumental at the end and the message is just tear jerking.😭

Did you guys go to a tour stop? I actually caught his last plectrum at his Milwaukee show 😃 Also, my favourite would have to be "Tip of the Iceberg," which my trip to Alaska made me love even more lolz.

We've seen him a few times in St. Louis, but none recently. Owl City and Imagine Dragons played a free show together by Yahoo that we went to which was interesting. And then we saw him again a few years after that. Would love to see him again! That's a great song and even cooler to listen to during an Alaskan trip! Thanks for sharing and listening along with us 😊

If we’re journeying through 2009 iconic albums, you should do a listen-through of OneRepublic’s Waking Up album. People know it for Secrets and All the Right Moves but the whole thing is really fantastic. Ryan Tedder stays underrated.

Wait what's the point of this video if both of you already knew it? Seems like clickbait tbh, but good video anyway
@WaveReactАй бұрын
@micahcoupaud6067 Sorry it feel click-baity, not our intention! We listened to OC's latest album and got a lot of requests for older stuff, but we both have heard it all front to back, so this was more of a "I haven't heard this in years, it will be interesting to relisten with fresh ears" type reaction. I'm glad you still enjoyed it! :) -Ryan
