This liquid silver is my first aluminium pigment, and not just one! It’s a new line of pigments sold by Kremer Pigmente and it’s really shiny!
From the website of Kremer : UTP® metal interference pigments on aluminum flakes coated with silicon oxide. Zenexo® effect pigments have a metallic appearance with a special deep gloss. They have high hiding power and extraordinary color intensity. Making it look like actual metal! In this case, silver.
Although I mostly don’t work with shimmers, this might’ve changed my mind! The process is so much different and the way the pigment interacts and behaves with the binder is just a thing of beauty!

Gorgeous color, Laurens! Love watching it flow into the pans! I wonder if you could clear up a mystery for me. I was using a brass paint pen to paint some fine details on a painting the other day, but the paint kept solidifying immediately when it came into contact with the brass. It was Kremer's star gold, but I couldn't find any info online about why it would solidify like that. I tried a few different metallics, and they all did the same thing. So strange. Weird science! 🤣

It’d be so cool if you made a watercolor paint with real metallic gold powder. That’d be such a interesting thing to see is you get a 1 gram gold bar and process it into powder; or one gram of gold powder and turn it into a powder

Well I’ve tried 23 carat gold leaf once, but my method wasn’t right so I might give it another go!
