Join me as I share a tutorial for how to make a perpetual fabric and slow stitching calendar that I can use year after year in my craft room.
There will be a separate calico page for each of the 12 months of the year.
It will provide the perfect place to plan out and document my creative year in words, fabric and stitch. Then with the magic of a Frixion pen and some heat, it will be ready to use again the following year (frixion markers erase with heat from an iron or hairdryer).
Plus a place to display and honour the gorgeous slow stitch squares I received as part of The Great Big Little Stitchery Swap. #stitcheryswap hosted by the lovely
I’ve not seen anyone else share this idea for a perpetual fabric and slow stitched calendar so I’m hoping it will provide some great inspiration!
A beginner friendly slow stitching and simple embroidery project too.

Love love love this project Christine, such a wonderful way to showcase all those squares and I feel very honoured to see mine there amongst them. I hope Alex recovers from his procedure very soon so poor Travis can have his pack back home safe xo

Love how this is going. Your creativity is never-ending! I do hope Alex is back home and the testing went well. Hope he’s feeling better. Poor Travers. He was lost without his Papa and was probably also feeling your stress about it. Hugs.

Yaay! You started this genius calendar! So excited! Ainu stitch is subtle but classy. I have yet to arrange my pressed flowers 🌸 on acid-free cards, would display it in threes just like yours. Thank you very much for sharing your 💡 ideas, Christine. It is indeed so much nicer when we can see our favorite things displayed, the joy of remembrance is multiplied! Take care. May you have a good weekend with Travis. Health prayers for Alex that the medical procedure will go smoothly.🙏 🌷tess

I seem to do better with running stitch when I make each stitch individually too. The Ainu stitch does make for an elegant border around your calendar page. I sympathize with Alex. Hadn't heard of white coat syndrome but I certainly suffer from it. Hope his procedure turns out well. Your calendar is looking good so far. 😁
