Hi Christine, the little envelope pouch is great. Thank you for your advice for my You Tube channel, I have managed to upload several videos now, however I have no idea how to attach a link. Please let me know where I can do this ? Much appreciated, thank you….. cheers Kaylee

Love the little envelope. Aww think I just worked out the cover for my what is slow stitch tin. Yep going to do weaving make a label then can do a few of my fav stitches on top, glue to tin and hey presto me little book will be inside! Aww very sweet. Have a great week and hope you got to see the Southern Aurora this night. Aww do you get to see the green flash as well? I’ve seen three times here is rather cool but alas no Opal finding for me. Still next day I walked Barry town beach and did find some rather pretty stones which my daughter claimed. Lovin these small projects. ❤

I love that idea! I’m doing some weaving at the moment, so I might have a go at this, if that’s okay with you? The inside fabric really pops when you open the pouch. It looks so good

Hi Christine, this is a new technique to me and I find it very interesting! Between you and Rachel and Kate, y'all are piqueing my interest in stitching and slow stitching again. I even pulled out some fabrics and have been looking at and holding some of them. (Haven't actually sewn any yet, but hopefully that's coming too!) Thank you for all you do for our community!❤😊

That's truly gorgeous Christine - so funny we each had kinda the same idea at the same time, but your version is SO beautiful with the vintage fabrics in those soft neutrals, really lovely. Weaving in some scraps of old lace would look really pretty too. I'm going to settle in and watch the rest of this properly while by complete coincidence stitching the Christine page in my stitchery swap keepsake book - reliving the joy of that first swap in 2023 - was it really that long ago you did the Dictionary of Stitches??? Surely that was only last year, have to check now ... :) xo

So good using those scrap strips Christine. In RJOS 5 when the prompt was make a bag. I made a draw strong bag with weaving fabric strips, I actually used a jelly roll I’d had for over 10 years, I used the lights one way and the darks the other way. I loved it so much I made a second one with the same jelly roll strips.

That’s a good use for leftover fabric strips. I think your suggestion of using French knots looks good, but so could some diagonal stitches in burger or darker colours could look good too. I always just pin my threaded needle into the bit of the project I’m working on so I don’t lose it - I’m always worried I’ll wind up stabbing myself if I drop the needle! 😂 A larger version could make a lovely curtain or blind for the windows. I think the light glinting through the colours and layers could look attractive. The odd numbers thing is so true! I remember assisting in a catering class once, and the tutor said that wherever they served needed to be arranged by odd numbers, otherwise it would look wonky. It always looks so much better

Great idea. I have leftover “scraps” of binding from my quilts that I have been wondering what to do with. I think this is a great way to use up those as they are usually not long enough to actually bind a quilt (without lots of bulk from stitching them together). Love the neutral colours for backgrounds

I love the selveges as well. And ad of late, some of the fanric designers have been putting a small line from a poem or something on them. One recently hzd a line from a walt whitman poem, a Christmas fabric i used this year had s line from a Christmas carol in the selvage. I am saving all the selvages i can get and will at some point use the nice ones in a strip quilt. Others i use in my junk journals and slow stitch projects.

Exc typos. My screen on phone is pretty scratched up. It works fine if I use the voice application but if I just try to type things in it’s a mess so I guess I need to actually start turning off the videos so that I can use the voice application and then restarting the videos to watch them anyway please excuse all of my typos😂

@createandcraftwithchristine3 күн бұрын
Don’t stress about the typos - I make them too 🙃 and I just discovered that selvage is the American version and selvedge is the European version.

Nice. I recently found an entire tote of vintage and antique crochet and tatted doilies and embroidered doilies on marketplace. The lady wanted 75 dollars for them. An elderly woman trying to detach so her children do not have to deal with it. So, we agreed I would come out next day and purchase. On the way to her house I was involved in a minor car accident. But it jolted my head in a way that I ended up in the emergency room for the afternoon, primarily sitting in a tiny room waiting. lol. Then the next day we had a snow storm. I live out in the country. The seller lived in town. In town they get their roads plowed, and business as usual resumes quickly. Out here, they do not plow the roads. So I was snowed in for a few days. She was a very nice lady, but she grew weary of waiting for me, and sold the entire tote to someone else……lol. I was so disappointed. But I cannot blame her. She was probably concerned I would never come. And of course another buyer came along very quickly. Because it was a large tote full. But hopefully some more will pop up again. But I think that one was a rare opportunity.
@createandcraftwithchristine3 күн бұрын
I’m so sorry to hear you had that accident and hope you’re all recovered from it now. And sorry to hear you lost the opportunity to purchase that tote of treasures. I hope you can find another bargain bag of goodies. It’s fun when it’s a mystery type of bundle and you don’t really know what is in there. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
