Looks like you're getting the necessary information dialed in. As I mentioned before in your previous video, don't forget to test the .314 sized bullets with IMR 4198 if you don't get the results you're looking for with IMR4227. The 4198 will put a smile on your face. 🙂

Excellent. I have been asked many times for a chamber cast video!!

This was my second attempt. I was on pins and needles the majority of the time. I'm extremely paranoid about getting a casting stuck, so it was tough to relax. Thanks for all your support! Hope to see ya friday.

@@leadsmith5873 I have done it a few times and like bedding I always worry as well. I have never done a video as that also adds complications!! Cking bore dia with a store bought muzzle loading lead ball is easier but only gives bore dims not the important throat measurements.

I’ve already watched this video but didn’t leave a comment?? I’ve never done a chamber casting, but have 2 rifles that would probably benefit from it. Thanks Brother.

Good dissertation. You can adjust the size of your cast bullets to some extent by the alloy you use. And, you can send in your chamber cast to have a proper mold made to your specs. (Just say no....to lipstick bullets)....
@leadsmith58732 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jim. I know... lipstick bullets just look like sacrilege next to time honored, pig fat lubed lead slugs. But I gotta try it!... I gotta warn you, I will have a powder coating video sometime in the near future

That's no surprise. I knew you would. I'll still watch your channel despite the casting sacrilege.

I've heard some of the 7.62x39 ar platforms are really .308 diameter. I wonder how that Ruger American is.
@leadsmith58732 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly CW spoke very highly of them during last Fridays livestream on the Georgia Shooting Connection. Also, it sounds like American barrels were exclusively .308 years back... but in recent times I'm hearing more reports of them being .311. I probably should have touched on that. Thanks for coming by!

@@mckwilly Good to know. I have a 7.62x39 barrel that I used in a build. I haven't slugged it yet, but it's on the "to do" list.
