Successfully replaced my seals thanks to your video. It was very informational! I also dropped my valve stem because I couldn't keep pressure. I've learnt to make a tool to fish the valve out and it only takes a minute to do that.

did this on my old n46 but i used the rope method with the engine in car no air and only basic tools but i think its worth getting the head off then you can actually check the valve guides and replace if nessasary

I have to do this job and want to use the rope method - do you simply take out a spark plug and just ram the cavity with rope? How much rope and do you have to do it with all spark holes? Thanks buddy

@@KingAlex9two yeah just get a line of rope off ebay small enough to fit in the in the spark plug hole what I used to do was bring the piston up half way fill with rope then try and keep it turning to tdc when you feel resistance your done and all the valves shouldn't drop just be careful with the oil gallery's fill them with tissue and carefully of the collets they like to get lost

Seeing the first video, I believe it was your rings instead of valve stems. Let me know if replacing just the valve stem seals fixed it. Thank you

Yes Valve Stem seals sorted this. Car was perfect after this and still is.

Sounds like you need to get a second opinion and quote from some other mechanic.
