Golden rules, really :) I shoot hungarian bows with thumb draw (ofc) but the same rules apply. Start with short range - the idea of just walking around and pick random targets around the place is really cool and fun. Also, I found if i use 1 or 2 arrows at a time for shooting, my accuracy is better, simply because if you have less arrows, the more the shot gets valuable, you focus more because every shot counts.

Yes, for trad neophyte, 3-under and gap aiming are the combo. Even for the more experienced who do not have opportunity to shoot frequently, it's combo that should be considered. And, yes, consistent form is of utmost importance. Trad archer can't consistently hit a spot unless form is consistent. And, yes, on practicing with 2-3 arras. When 1st shot doesn't go where intended you'll get to point of knowing what it was with form that caused the miss AND can use arrows #2 and #3 to recover from the error. AND when 1st arra consistently HITS your spot then ya reinforce self with #2 and #3.

Best information I've heard. I'm like you. I started on a hill style bow and prefer them more than any other bow, but I just picked up an old Bear Polar longbow that looks in good shape., 63# at 28, limb tips forward about 2 inches, 64 inches. I'm gonna check it over real good, refinish it some and try it out. Really looking forward to it.

Forgot to say, from research that old bow was made 1953, same year I was born. Pretty neat.

Thank you Mr. Carter. Would you mind sending a link to the video about how to aim a longbow? I did not see it on the list. Thank you
