Awesome singing. ... This is a Tillana composed by None other than The Great Balamuralikrishna in raga Mecha-Kalyani. Later in charanas, by doing Grahabedha, it changes to Mohana and Hindola. Not an easy one to sing.

Video quality sorry to say is awful to say the least however the audio quallity is surprisingly good. However what the video lacks is compensated by the brilliant performance of father daughter duo. Never had the chance to see Kaushikiji live but thanks to youtube my dream has somewhat come true. Thank you for uploading this gem. You made my day.

I understand what you say It does sound a bit mixed up...tho the overall effect is very good. As Kaushiki mentioned it could be because it is one of the singers' first outing - she was doing all the "adjustment" on that count. Plus all 3 seemed overexcited about the adi talam which they were even beating with their hands...i found that a bit out of place. That said, listen to the latest performance of KC featuring the same Kalyani+gathi/grihabhedana tillana...dated feb 2014...it is simply awesome...shows years of getting used to this musical piece....fine effort to blend her gharana's gayaki with the more strict Balamurali school/style... good to listen to and watch - Kaushiki looks and sings like a goddess on stage. But from a purist's point i would still go for the karnatik original by the great man himself which i first heard in the mid 80s...
