I know this is an old video but maybe you’ll still respond. Building an 05. Was gonna swap the stock turbo with the bigger 05 from the manual WRX and STi’s but rethinking that now. Maybe just injectors, fuel pump, tune, maybe boost controller. Any thoughts and recommend any certain brands on the items I listed? This car build is for a KZbin channel. Not the build itself but we’re using the car for a couple videos. Brawn Stroman told us he had the neon turbo and was getting 400 hp to the wheels with the same turbo we have. I’m shooting for 300-325hp.

325hp is pretty easy even with a stock turbo. If you run E85. You'll want to talk to Dave Trojahn, he would be able to get you a tune, injectors, and everything else you'd need to get going.

I think the chrome was stock on this one. I have a hard time finding GT cars in the junkyard without the chrome. I plan on making the chrome a gloss black in the future.

Any idea on how to get a stock 05 pt gt BOV louder?

Buy a BOV bypass plate. It'll vent the BOV to atmosphere. Otherwise you'll want to put an XS BOV on there that lets you adjust it.

What does it take to make the pt run so much boost? I have a stock 2003 GT Manual and wanted to start increasing the power. I am looking to make around 300whp. My first thought was to do 2.5inch exhaust, 3 inch cold air intake with a I3 tuner, but seems like that wont make enough power and I need to modify a lot more (like boost controller, blow off valve and aftermarket waste-gate etc) to run more boost. Is that the case?

Well, really you'll need: 1. A tune 2. A "Stage 2 Mopar" style WGA 3. Larger injectors 4. Larger fuel pump For your power goal you should be able to do that with that stuff and use E85 fuel.

One of the funner things I've done in this car is roll raced a riced out Hyundai at 2AM after an ice storm. I didn't even give it half throttle (didn't have the 255lph fuel pump in yet) and easily easily walked in front of this Hyundai redlining every gear. I let off at 65 and he just kept going to probably 90 in a 45.

I think I got it from Modern Performance. I painted it with some spray paint similar in color to the dash.

It's a stock tubo modified with a 16g wheel and a modified exhaust manifold. Yes, using a Diablo InTune with a tune from Dave Trojahn.

Sticky tires should help, I had federal 595 on the Civic 32 psi seemed good . Im guessing the PT cruiser is a bit heavier so I would do a few test launches and dial in the best psi for grip.

It's a 4-speed auto with a Stage 1 PCM for faster shifts. I actually like it more than the T-850 in my Neon.

Yup. Stage 1 PCM shifts very fast and using the manual shifting will actually bounce it off the rev limiter lol. Only shifts when I tell to and it's about instant. Shifts faster than me in my SRT-4.

@@NecromancerGarage where are you getting the stage 1 tune from? finding mopar stage 1 ecu is basically impossible now

@@carsonbalch2391 I got really lucky. Some one on eBay was selling it for $100 shipped. I'm using a custom tune over it, but the Stage 1 on an auto gives you a much much better transmission tune. If you have a manual transmission there is no benefit to using the Stage 1 vs something like a canned Diablo tune.

@@NecromancerGarage I have a auto turbo lite and trying to go to 93 and more boost, only have exhaust and boost gauge in the air vent so far. Looking for 15lbs to peg the gauge tho

@@carsonbalch2391 I may be wrong, but you can contact Needless Torque Calibrations, Dave can get you setup on a 18psi tune pretty easy. He can actually sell you a kit to turn it up to about 20lbs. Totally different drivability even on stock boost pressure, his tunes are great.

Haha. I've got an SRT-4 also, that eventually is going to be my fun 2.4L car. This PT started off as a daily for my fiance, but has slowly been modded into this heap since the head gasket went one day. I fixed A LOT of issues the previous owners had made. It's no 500whp Neon like yours, but it's getting kinda fast haha. I'm looking at a big turbo setup for my Neon, probably doing an s252sxe for a good street killer.
