I have never seen a perfomer enjoying his own performance so much...It seems he is playing and talking with Surs..What a great artist. His singing style resembles with Pt. Bhimsen Joshi Ji. I don't undrstand Marathi but must have watched this performance at least 50 times since yesterday. My humble Pranam to Pandit Ji🙏.

Truly, music has no language. Pt. Kaivalyakumarji was obviously singing for a mainly Kannada speaking audience, but they enjoyed the Marathi natyasangeet - as much as an audience in Pune enjoys his kannada bhajans!! Amazing rendition!! Jiyo!

bubblywine1 Marathi Bhajans and Natya Sangeet are enjoyed by the people of Karnataka mainly from the border towns of Belgaum and Hubli Dharwar, where Marathi is also spoken. They are also enjoyed by the Konkani speaking people of the Saraswat community who migrated from Goa about 500 years ago. Konkani speaking Saraswaths can be found all over Karnataka, especially concentrated in the coastal belt and Bengaluru. This program was organised by the Saraswath GSB community in a temple in Kalyanpur, near Mangalore.

Shri Kaivalyakumarji is from Dharwad which is popular for Hindustani music. Since many years people have close association with Marathi language & people So they sing Marathi abhung also Eg Bhimsen Joshi Savai Gandhrava Konkalimath Basavaraj Rajguruji , now Shri Kaivalyakumar, Jayateertha Mevundi etc. The old generation people were fond of Marathi Natya Sangeet.

Mr, Kalyan Wagh , with all respect I wish to say that we need Vasanthrao Deshpandeji,Pt.Bhimsen Joshiji etc. etc. , but we also want Kaivalya kumarji, Sanjeev Abhyankarji etc.etc. Take it as a boon that we can enjoy all these music gems with their own distinctive styles.Don' t compare them with one another. Can you compare Pt. bhimsen Joshi with Ustad Bade Gulam Saahib? You cannot tell who is GREAT among them. So my earnest request is that don't compare Kaivalyaji with Pt.VasantRao Deshpande . Just enjoy the 2 differnt styles as it is,

I appreciate the innovation of the artist. Any upcoming artist would try different forms of expression. Though Pt. Kaivalya Kumarjee is not a marathi speaking (i guess) he took it as challenge and rendered which is worth appreciating. Pt Kaivalya Kumar happens to know Marathi. I’ve heard him speak it quite comfortably, but he is Kannadiga. Many Deshastha Kannadigas are familiar with some form of Marathi...sometimes it’s old Marathi.

Beautiful rendition of a popular Marathi Nattyapad! Although I agree that it doesn't do justice to the meaning of the poetry (which was true even in the original composition, IMHO, but many in Maharashtra just got too much used to it), this sounds more like Shringar-ras than Veer-ras/Bhakti-ras as was expected in this song that humbly honors the fallen by describing their ultimate. sacrifice.
