Randy Jones came up and introduced himself to me in 2009 or 10 while I was selling records on Astor Pl. near the East Village in nyc. Nice personable guy enjoying life. I wish him well.

He was in the video game Postal III. I found a world of respect in the man for that.

FELIPE ROSE WAS THE FIRST TO BE DISCOVERED BY JACQUE MORALI, IN A WEST VILLAGE BAR. FELIPE ROSE IS TRULY THE ONLY FOUNDING MEMBER, BEFORE THE REST OF THE GUYS WERE BROUGHT IN. LOOK AT THE ALBUM COVER OF THE FIRST RECORD AND YOU CAN SEE THAT FOR YOURSELF.

ALL THESE OTHER DUDES ANSWERED A TRADE PAPER AD, LOOKING FOR CHARACTERS TO PLAY THE PARTS. HECK, THEY DIDN'T EVEN SING ON THE ALBUMS.

@@googo151 uh…not exactly, yes Felipe was the one to inspire the character aspect of the village people, but Victor and Alex were also involved in the first album along side Felipe, having already been in contact with Jacque Morali as background singers they just weren’t in character yet until the album Crusin’. All three of them sang on the first album, then the rest of the gang was indeed recruited in the newspaper ad and sang in the upcoming albums. They were all wonderful singers.

I have never seen a Behind The Music type documentary or a "tell all" book about Village People. They have such a fascinating story that needs to be told. I wonder if that will ever happen? (Or has it already?). In any event, thanks for the upload.
