Liz made it to final 6 with her twin and a showmance, and she outlasted both of them despite being the strongest. And she got people to protect her and in Big Brother you're not owed protection. She also knew who were big threats like Becky and James and she got rid of them. So yes Liz did play a great game and she is not given credit because people choose to rip on her personality instead. it's haters being haters.

If you listen to the end of Shelli's interview she said she voted for Steve based on how much of a superfan he was and how much the win meant to him and that it did not mean as much to Liz, so her vote was clearly not based on game play alone.

I 100% agree with what Vanessa said about voting for Liz vs Steve .Liz really wasn't a bad player, I think her delivery, or the way she speaks sometimes, makes people write her off as some kind of dumb airhead. But the truth is, she's not dumb, she caught on quick, and she won a lot of HOH's and POV's for her alliance, which helped Van a lot. It helped to keep their side in power to get rid of the other side of the house. She was no mastermind, but I get why Van voted for her. And even if their was a little bitterness involved, can't say I blame her. I would've been bitter af if I was her! Lol, anyways, good interview (as always)

+Wednesday Addams Oh,,, don't get it twisted, I'm not saying Liz is a great player! But for someone who knew nothing about the game coming in she caught on to it pretty fast. And she helped her alliance a Lot by winning a lot of comps. You can be the best player/strategist in the world, but if you (or your alliance members) don't win any comps, you're not gonna win the game. So in that way, she was a big asset to Vanessa (as opposed to Julia who was really just a vote). That's why I understand why Van voted for her (but I think there was some bitterness toward Steve, too, but I think I would be too if I went out the way she did!)

Whether or not you agree with her actions or behavior, I think she was very honest about what she thought and why she acted as she did. It's all about perspective because none of them know the facts about everything, including who was being honest or not and why. I watched the feeds and I couldn't even tell. Most of them act on their gut feelings and are just doing what it takes to survive, so you can't fault who she trusted or didn't. Even though I don't respect Austin for being bitter initially and even in current interviews, I liked his interview with Eric because I understood his perspective more. I don't like when players attempt to discredit other players - they all think they're pulling the strings and responsible for their own game!! I can't wait for Part II because I'd love to hear her perspective on why she chose to evict Julia over Liz and her reflections on the Clay/James/Jmac fight with the thought that Clay actually wanted her to work with Jmac.

Vanessa played a good game and as much as I wanted to root for a woman to win her ways rubbed me the wrong way. I know its been said a thousand times but she did not own her actions that proved she is a strategist. She came across as she felt she was smarter and superior to everyone else. She came across as socially awkward. Its like she didn't realize bragging about herself isn't a good quality and doesn't usually sit well with others. She continuously went on and on about her integrity and it did not match up with her actions. She lied, she manipulated and she schemed her way to the final three which is all absolutely acceptable and great game play but she refuses to OWN IT! She tried her damnedest to control everyone in the game and for the most part she did but the times she couldn't she just about lost her mind. The fact that she played the victim card so many times was nauseating. For someone who was playing so many people, and most of the time really well, she played that pity party of one to the extreme. In my opinion, the fact that she still plays as if we just don't understand her game play or see it for what it really is, is an insult to our intelligence. Come on Vanessa, we watched the feeds daily. Stop acting like we are not smart enough to "get it". We get it but you need to get it too.

NOW -- with regard to Vanessa's vote -- She states that one of the problems with Steve's game -- at the end in the final three is that he HAD to win the final HOH in order for him to get to final 2 since she was NOT going to take him if she herself had won the final HOH. Welllll -- DUHHHHHH - she herself was in that exact same position. THAT negates that POINTLESS argument. AND with her being a top tier Poker Player, using that same argument-- shouldn't she have played a game that was MUCH better than Steve's or Liz' game -- where she didn't alienate the other HG's at all? NOW -- don't get me wrong -- having Vanessa as a key ingredient to BB's Season 17, helped to make the season incredibly riveting -- but she should just have admitted (confessed!) that her final vote for Liz over Steve was based on pure bitterness and pain, clouding her judgement on how to award that life-altering half a million dollars! What is also sort of funny is seeing how she's trying to play poker with the audience for this Reality Recaps interview! I laughed out loud when she says how, when she got the boot from Steve, "she thought she had a smile on her face, with a positive attitude" Huh????! Here's another DUHHHHHH -- this was a televised TV show and the look on her face was a combination of absolute disappointment, and maybe even anger -- it certainly was not a "big smile with a positive attitude"!!!

i'm finally getting to watch this; I'm so totally bummed that i've been working so much, I was not home to log in for this, but I was a huge fan of vanessa all season long; In fact, she was the one to watch in my opinion; Every single time I turned on the feeds=yes i loved jame's pranks and take no prisoners attitude, yes i absolutely adored jason's personality, Yes I couldnt get enough of Johnny Mac's D.R's, loved to watch because I was both dissappointed and fascinated by Audrey's blanket, loved to watch the shelly/clay drama unfold and I also loved julia's sense of humor! I have a bit of an oddball sense of humor, so many times i may have been the only one laughing, but I found her so naturally humorous - but at the end of the day, It was VANESSA'S STRATEGIC GAMEPLAY that held my gaze; I defended her all season long, and on the feeds chat I was always the first to stand up and say, "what game are ya'll watching??" when others would criticise vanessa for many things that were outside her strategy, like having empathy for people. I've always known the common sense fairy hasn't been seen by most, but every summer during BB, it really stands out. This season held the same ridiculous accusations about (1) someone being a bully. If the audience really cared about true bullies, they would not so haphazardly throw the word around; (2) production helping hg's due to favoritism or controlling the end result; I personally don't believe that. And personally don't understand why the people who really believe that keep watching? It certainly isn't for the game, which for me is the #1 reason to watch my favorite show that I hope never ends ;)

OK I hate to be one of those people who sit there and complain about not getting questions answered but one of the biggest questions got Brushed under the rug. Eric forgive me if I'm wrong, but you briefly asked her about the [owning her game], Then instantly masked it with a follow up question ( I think the solo dolo question).. what's that on purpose so she wouldn't have to answer the first question? It's seems like she should be willing to talk about what was said in the DR vs during livefeeds & after the game If she brought up the DR with Steve's "I let her think she was in control of me" strategy

As someone who watched live feeds and re-watched feeds when needed. Steve did say that he was leading you to believe that you were controlling him (I called it when I finally caught on that, that was what he was doing, before so). No, you did not bully, Steve...He never felt that you did. I felt you were aggressive, but not a bully, by any means! I don't understand why you keep bringing up attending Law school, because just because you did does not mean you are one. From what I understand you did not finish. I don't care how many times you deny it, you were VERY BITTER that Steve did not keep his word to you and take you to the final two! Your so called logic makes absolutely no sense! But your expressions/actions speak louder. Steve had a plan before he went into the house, executed it and WON BB17! Liz was carried to the end. Not under estimated by any means! She basically said that she was going to use her body to get to the end. IMO that is not game play...and I'll leave it there. You had deals with everyone! Just curious what you feel Liz strategically did to ensure she would be a shoe in for final two in regards to Steve? I really like Liz but she did not play a strategic game. She had no clue Steve would take her to final two and the only reason he did is because he knew he could beat her. This is not strategy on her part. It could be a strategy, but in the case of Liz, it was not. Obviously you earned your vote and you are entitled to stand by it if you so choose. Throughout the game you were able to manipulate others into believing whatever you wanted them to. You also tend to truly make yourself believe whatever you are trying to convince others of. That's why it's really hard to believe that your vote wasn't based on bitterness. Also, it's funny that you keep saying it's not fair to you to be asked a question that you disagree with or don't like.

+Sara Phillips Vanessa gave Liz her word that she would vote for her, and Steve did not play a better game than Liz. He just articulated his game better than her in the final speech. Like always people assume the guy plays better than the girl but for anyone who watched the live feeds, Liz put in a lot of work to position herself accordingly. She got people to protect her and to be able to accomplish that, that's a skill. Steve had to win at moments or else he was going home so no, his game was not strategic where he would stayed no matter what.

Looking back now I think if Vanessa had evicted Liz instead of Austin at final 5 and the final 3 had been Steve Austin and Van which she had to power to make happen. Austin would have had no chance at part 1 and 2 of the final hoh and steve would have won part 3. I have a feeling that Steve might have taken Van to F2 over Austin. Eric should ask Steve what he would have done if he had to make that choice.

I was team Vanessa until right around week five... I was rooting for her and loved how smart she was, but then she just got paranoid and annoying and she wasn't fun to watch. I respect her gameplay, but it was just horrid to watch. Dr Will was charming and evil and funny. He was having a good time, therefore those watching also enjoyed themselves. Vanessa seemed miserable and made me feel it so I ended up wishing someone would just take her out of her misery.
