By the grace of God I'm enlightened, in the 60s there was a back to Africa move in the USA. At Washington DC. They crunched the numbers as in Greenwood Tulsa Oklahoma, gross segregation in 1921, yet they had complimented business that support each other, they were industrially United in segregation, being rich and independent from whites America, that picture terrified them ,that if that nation of black Americans in America fellow suite ,it will spread to Africa, industrial independence such as farming, civil engineering, textile, these are sustainable skills, which terrified white America if it spread to Africa. So they took the course of integrating to the black people a mind delusion ,to believe they are equal when they are not, but super consumers and no producers, is the prasent state in America black Americans are.James in America Chicago. 🤔😐

I do recall a man telling me that the US government stopped the movement of African Americans back to Africa (I believe Nigeria in particular) back in the 70’s

No ridiculous gold chains, jordans and all. I have to say this, it takes people with a certain mentality and fortitude to move. This family can uproot themselves and move elsewhere and would still do alright because they are grounded and secure. Also because of their demeanor, I do not see any " I am better than Africans" like some of our cousins from the US have so they will certainly be welcomed and embraced by Africans since by nature we are a kind and humble people and never mistake that for a weakness. It is a strength which is what distinguishes us from the invaders and so called conquerors.

Isn’t it prejudiced to have that idea that Black Americans wear big gold chains and Jordans? Like, most of us are normal people. How would you feel if I said, referring to an African person, “Good, no ridiculous colorful clothes.” That would be very disrespectful. While you commend them for not having a superior attitude, make sure you don’t have one.

@@ToLovelyJesus No its not. I live in the US and I travel, I am black and i observe. If its true then there is no prejudice involved. I am only speaking to that segment. Off course not all black American men do this but a large proportion including even older guys do it. It screams look at me. You are free to comment on any casual observations you see of Africans and i will not be butt hurt because i know it does not apply to me. By the way a lot of our people in Africa do not know how to keep time and that is just a fact. It does not change if an African American or a person of another race says it. Have a great day.

I am a Black American, from a Black neighborhood, with a huge Black family, went to a Black church, and Black schools, and most of the Black men that I grew up around do not fit the description that you provided. My parents and their friends were businessmen, school principals, police officers, and doctors. My pediatrician and dentist were Black American men. Black Americans constantly have to fight stereotypes and it’s immensely discouraging when people come to our country and impose the same prejudices as those who oppressed us.

🤦🏾‍♂️Glad this family went and found whatever they were looking. As a Black American, I found the story he told about the African man from a different tribe, who was bilingual, being able to speak in the Malawan elder man's language great for him to witness, but also sad. Based on what he said he ,like many who go to all these different places to "find themselves", they feel lost... they feel like they don't have culture, when we as Black Americans not only have one of the most influential, appropriated, and comodified cultures on the planet, which includes various regional cultural practices, we also have various languages, including AAVE, as well as various regional dialects. Being from NC, living in Los Angeles for the past 12 years, the experience he witnessed I definitely have had the here. That ingrained, subconscious, inferior, low self esteem is always sad to witness, from anybody, but especially from my own folks. The world would not be the same without Black Americans based on our inventions alone, let alone our contributions to the Arts, Sciences, Medicine, and Civil Rights. Thankfully many of us do know better, and none of that will ever be lost! I just wish those who put the same energy to learn about all these other places, did the same for their own culture. Per his example there is value in ethnicity, and learning from each other, all of that was lost when he went into the "Lost Culture" pity party narrative, respectfully.

Establishing "African-Americans" autonomy? ...or follow another obscure path? What are the feasible ways to socio-economically development? Ways of retooling tha psyche of "African-Americans"...is it practical? Is it obtainable? Now, between video markers of 16:24-19:04,I admired how you attempted to adjust the panel's thoughts from a "me" basis to a "we" basis,in overcoming social obstacles. EXCELLENTLY DONE!!!

From 19 minutes and 35 seconds to about 21 minutes and 30 seconds they are trying to explain how after several hundred of years and many generations since slavery they even can tell a difference.The family in the video have lived in and visited several African nations so far.A lot of Africans do not know about the 2 slave trades that took place in Africa.
