I've suffered with excursion headaches for years. I tried everything, and nothing worked. Gave up intense exercising. Even playing golf brings it on. I was desperately searching for answers and finally discovered what the underlying cause was. Hyponatremia. Low sodium. Salty broths before and after exercising is the only thing that works for me. I now enjoy moderate exercising and golf. Caffeine also helps.

I did 50 push ups one go and usually i do 20 push ups. After that I am having headache for 2 days now. What u sayed was all the faults i did thank you

When I do floor exercises, after standing up, I'll lose a little hearing temporarily and my head is on fire.

I’ve been working out for 8 months now, I usually do regular push ups too but 3 days ago I push myself to 30 push ups then suddenly I feel severe headache on the left side

So I went for MRI 2 weeks ago, they found a small unruptured aneurysm on the right side of my head. The doctor suggested to do CT angiogram on my brain to know what causing headache on my the left side because when my heart is pounding I feel a pulsating pain on the left side of my head.

I am absolutely in love with this video here, it has helped me enough... P.s. can you make a vdo on ankhe rehab as I got my ankle injured by twisting it on a hard surface, it has been 3 months nd I am still not able to take basic load on my ankle

I had exercise headaches in the past but then it went away i also stopped exercising forgot about them. Now they are back i hear factors like heat and stress can cause these headaches i think those may be a factor but i realize that when do push ups i try to make my chin touch the ground i think my chest isn't going any deeper so i may be juting out my head. I also think i am squeezing my traps so i will try and make the adjustments to my exercise and hopefully that will make a difference. I'll also try going to a doctor.

I often get migraines after a heavy back day and or chest day and it's 100% related to the traps being overly engaged and neck position. I found some relief when applying ice to the trap/neck area post workout. The inflammation the next day is less severe and migraines sometimes don't even present 🙏

@@yoshutzy1321 there's a blue ice pack on Amazon that covers the neck and back which is great but even a small one to place around the neck/jaw/traps should be good

I hold my head straight and focus on an object with my eyes.. still get a headache after 30 reps..

Sorry to hear that. Head position isnt all that matters. As stated in the video, your thorax/sternum does as well. Plus where you feel the tension. A lot more to this!

It happens to me with only pull ups, I guess at the top of the rep I’m probably pushing my neck towards the ceiling and then get really bad headaches. Also bad breathing techniques could be a factor. Great video

Yea could be lurching your head over the bar or shrugging shoulders/traps a lot to get last couple reps or so

All started in high-school in the late 70s when I developed a likeness for weight training. One of the other movements that seem to trigger it is working under a car while on my back. (Where I catch myself lifting my head.) I've searched high and low for answers on post workout migraine headaches (as in 12hr to 24hrs) headaches. Talked with docs, gym owners, professional lifters, PTs, etc. Even search the web about once a year, normally while I'm dealing with a crushing migraine headache, like right now, lol. So, 1st, thank you, I am so glad I finally found someone talking about this! 2nd, question... is there any physical motion or stretch that can correct the headache after one's bad behavior 😂 has triggered it? Again, Thanks man!

Hi, I’ve seen these videos a lot but nothing seems to help. I’m a beginner, and whenever i do more then 10 press ups and go the slightest above my limit i suddenly feel massive head pains out of no where. This is the exact same with any sorts of dumbbells as well. The pains are un bearable are very immediate. They go away after 2 minutes but it prevents me from doing anything.

Hey Dillon, sorry to hear this. Likely there are some cervical/neck range of motion limitations that need to be considered for you before getting into strength training then. As well as soft tissue for accessory respiration muscles such as Upper Trap, Scalene, and SCM. Never met or assessed you, so don't take this as gold. Just my 2 cents from treating people like this.

I usually hit around 40 pushups per set. But for some reason, after I just did 18 and stopped while still maintaining my pushup position (obv in the position like that for mountain climbers), I then got a splitting headache at the back to top part of my head. Sometimes, it's at the temples of my head as well. Not sure what's causing them tho Weird thing is that when I do a half pushup, I don't get this. But when I do a full pushup (chest to the grnd, arms extended when coming back up), then after around just 10 full pushups, I get headaches. Been that way for a couple of months alr

In a day i do 50-60 push ups a day and doing my workout routine and i do 30 push ups straight but in one day when i start doing 10 push ups my head gets really hurts that's why i can't do push ups rn i hope this video can help me.

Very weird feeling in temples and neck when doing feet up pushups. Weird shid.. slight pain. It's not excruciating, but it seems blood flow type stuff

I'm getting a tension headache in right of my temple - is this likely from push ups? I only started doing them last week and doing Athlean-X videos (so 3 different push ups to failure, break in between each set). I assume it wouldn't be from running/burpees/mountain climbers/squats or ab exercises?

likely the pushups. Very common for this to occur for those who have neck restrictions as well as weakness around rotator cuff and arm (or just by doing to many and not prepared) the upper trap starts to substitute and create the tension headaches. Depending on the type of sit ups, this could also be a culprit. Less likely mountain climbers, but have seen that before too (as thats the same as the push up position, especially if already tired from the pushups).

Bro this helped me a lot in just 2 min after i see this video i tried it and it worked just like he is saying dont push your head forwad or you wouldn't no that you are pushing your head forwad so just try to pull it backwards, hope it helped

hello sir, earlier i was not able to do pushups....recently i have achieved this goal and can do 10-12 reps now but whenever i do push ups i get severe headache in the right half of the head starting from the hairline upto the back of head. please help if you know.

I get insane migraines within 3 days. Its in my neck and upper shoulders. Ive given up on them. I always thought that it might be due to scapular wining, also broke my coller bone at a young age and didnt realise. so my one shoulder is lower than the other. Im also a programmer. sitting/standing in front of a screen for 8 hours

Same problem - i get it the next day. I think it is because of suden and hard exercise. Now i am very sensitive even when lifting bags. The solution might be to go veeeeryyy slow.

Great idea! Simple recommendation is do the pulldown in front of head as opposed to behind head if you happen to be doing it that way!

@@sportsrehabexperts I do the pull down in front of the head, I doubt the position of my head and the breathing , of both are going correctly, still if I am getting headache , I have also noticed some headache while lifting 7.5 KG dumbles to perform dumblecurls

@@HowTo-lc2rp yea, position and breathing can influence things. If your pulling down in front and thats causing an issue, likely you lack some neck range of motion. Or have a neck strength/rotator cuff strength deficit. Combination of both? As well as possible additional influence of holding excess tension/stress around your neck/breathing.

Ok this might be why but after I ran a mile I did ten push ups and immediately after the back part of my lower head and some of my upper neck hurt. Since then that part for the last couple of days has hurt after about the 5th or 6th rep. I try to go for 15 push ups but my head hurts to bad at ten reps. I don’t know why if you could please help me it would be much appreciated.

If you are in a position with feet high on wall. Almost like a upside doen pushup but not quite that deep. When i push hard. I feel my temples and side of neck pulsating. Almost like a blood flow thing. Anyone feel this?
