This is the first time I’ve heard migraines explained! and what muscles are involved. Although I had an idea, with the eye pain, the muscles in the back of the head, neck, etc. i’ve always wondered why I feel like I had tooth aches, jaw pain when I get a migraine lately getting them around every 6 to 10 days lasting at least 3 days. My doctor said no idea why , but hers a prescription. Your excercises helped me in less than 15 mins ! Thank you so very much.

When I was in the navy, it seemed MDs (well, officers in general) tended to look down on we junior enlisted. Wartime medicine, I spoze. I was stricken by a migraine attack once (1970s) when I went to medical (I had never had a migraine before) and the MD who saw me actually took the time to explain to me what was happening. I find it amazing that much of what she told me about what we knew about migraines back then .... is repeated here. Thank you very much!!

Another B-2 at dinner works amazingly to keep migraines away & gives me tons of energy. Anti-depressants & anti-epileptics can disrupt how your body absorbs B-2 (Riboflavin), which in turn can cause headaches and weight gain. Remember to thank God for this if it works for you too!!! I have been doing this splenius muscle stretch every day for a month now. I had a chronic point of pain on the back of my head which disappeared after a few days of doing the stretch and never came back. I'm having a hormonal migraine now and usually the pain is moderate, but now it's one of the most mildest migraine I've ever had. Today I was watching the morning news, they talked about tension headaches and migraines originating from the splenius muscle. I thought about Dr. Rowe, what a wonderful human being he is to share his knowledge with us.

This a really good tutorial. My partner used to get migraines for 3-4 days weekly plus recovery. These headaches really made him miserable with pain, nausea and no sleep. He cannot take nsaids as he is on blood thinners so it's mostly white knuckles for a day or 3. He got off gluten which has allowed him to go months without a migraine. Now when he gets one he uses magnesium in some form or other right away to relax muscles. I could see myself giving him massage to help with the pain. This is the kind of tutorial that makes me very glad I subscribe to this channel.

After suffering with migraines most of my life, and well-intentioned doctors who tried to offer relief, I finally got proactive on discovering my TRIGGERS and a referral to a neurologist who gave me a preventative medication while I adjusted my life-style. I also found counseling very helpful for addressing the anxiety and depression that are a perfectly NORMAL response to chronic intense pain. I hope you find relief SOON! ❤

We couldn't figure out what is was for decades, diet, noise and lights from live music, sleep issues like lack of oxygen, dehydration, the list goes on. Most mornings after a gig I would have a migraine, it would usually also involve nausea and vomiting. Since watching this and doing all of the stretches when i get home after a gig my migraines have all but vanished, it is quite unbelievable how effective it's been and I would go so far to say life changing for me. I've had migraines since I've been a small child, triggered by so many things, but so much worse in the last years with severe stress in my life. I have had steroid injections of facet joints that made them worse, MRIs, physical therapy but no one said anything like this. I've worn a night guard due to jaw clenching since the late 80s and have had every broken/cracked molar crowned. The only relief I've had through the years has been Imitrex... or a deep neck massage doing just what you suggested here! My research suggested cervicogenic headache or occipital neuralgia. Was recently diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy and thought that must be aggravating the problem. I just did all these exercises with you and I feel a distinct improvement. My ears even seem to have opened up, as weird as that sounds. THANK YOU. 🙏🙏

I was looking up videos to try to help my relief. And I can’t wait to try these when I am home from work tonight after reading all these comments. Here is my story: I always thought that I knew what a migraine was I have had headaches off and on a lot the past few years. I now know that the headaches I was experiencing were nowhere near a migraine. I started getting pretty bad headaches at the beginning of November. Also, around the same time bye was having toothache problems. After looking around at some stuff online, I found out that having to have a root canal can also cause a migraine or a headache. I haven’t been to the dentist in a long time. Not really for any specific reason, it had just been a long period of time since I went. To make a long story short, I got my root canal done and felt OK for a couple of days. And then the headaches came back and they’ve gotten worse and have been horrible ever cents. I couldn’t enjoy Thanksgiving, my boyfriend and I’s anniversary, or Christmas. This is the first migraine I’ve ever experienced, and it hasn’t stopped cents. I’ve been to many different doctors, and they all tried to give me different things to help. No one can find the source of the migraine. Around this time in November, I did have a job transition and a lot of changes so some doctors related this to stress. But I never knew stress could cause this much pain. And after going to see a ear nose and throat doctor, she let me know that she thinks that I have what is called a vestibular migraine. no fluid in the ears which is good but I do get on and off dizziness and I am sensitive to smells bright lights, etc. I got the paperwork on a vestibular migraine and I feel like my whole world changed. I had to take into account, food triggers, And other things that I never thought about. I’m not sure that it is food related because again I’ve never had this problem but at this point I would try anything. So I have been on an elimination diet and eating foods that are only good for migraines, and nothing that can potentially trigger it and that hasn’t helped yet. I was told to try vitamin B2 and B12 which I take daily. I have also seen that magnesium helps so I take that at night two hours after I take nortriptyline. I was hesitant to try nortriptyline because of all the symptoms that I’ve heard. For a while, it definitely did help, but I am on two months of taking it 10 mg and I feel like it stopped working. My doctor did suggest upping the dosage to 20 mg, as your body can get used to it, and that affects the success of the medication. But again I’m hesitant to upped the dosage because of the potential symptoms. I guess it’s just frustrating because I have never had a migraine before, I am 27 years old. I am relatively healthy and have never had any other health problems. I even was so scared about this happening that I got blood work done and a MRI to make sure everything was fine. My bloodwork showed borderline cholesterol problems and low iron but for the most part everything came back normal. Same for the MRI, everything came back normal. so on paper nothing is wrong medically in those regards. So bottom line is I’m just trying to figure out the root cause of the problem. My insurance doesn’t specifically have chiropractors but I have heard that they work wonders so I would love to try to find one to see if it could work for me. my insurance also doesn’t allow me to see a neurologist until you have tried three different medication’s for at least 2 to 3 months each. But for me, I would like to not just keep taking medication’s and just find the root of the problem. Each day is just so disheartening and hard and I just want relief. Any advice or words would be great. Cannot wait to try these exercises when I get home tonight. Also side note: I have bought everything suggested that I have found on TikTok to help with migraines. So as I stated before I have tried B2, B12, magnesium, ginger root, those head caps that you put in the freezer, a eye mask massager, I’ve tried at all.
@kathym66039 ай бұрын
Something possessed me to read your story! The part about “3 meds for 2 or 3 months each before approval of a neurologist” should be classified as malpractice. I’ll tell you up front that I have a strange form of migraine without pain but these migraines are still incapacitating for about 48 hours. I don’t go to doctors, so little by little I’m learning what to do about the migraines. I head straight for bed with heat packs on my feet and a cold pack on my neck, and then move the cold pack to wherever it feels good. Keeping hydrated with electrolyte water is very important (bottled mineral water has electrolytes). Also watch for triggers like stress, and low blood sugar (which happens if you skip meals). I hear birth control pills can cause migraines. Nerves love B vitamins. A wonderful source of well balanced B vitamins is Nutritional Yeast (flakes are better than powder) and you can mix it with food. When I do it right I take Nutritional Yeast every day of the month. I see you already take magnesium. I take Alka-Seltzer Gold right away at the start of a migraine, and every two hours and drink extra water with it. Alka-Seltzer gold is nothing more than a fancy form of baking soda but the body loves it (another research topic!). Take salt (NOT potassium. See Dr. Berg video "use more salt to fix migraines"). You can do more research on any of this. Search KZbin for “Dr. Eric Berg migraine”. Look up how to do acupressure at the base of your thumb or other acupressure advice. I’m disappointed that I still get them so often but at least I have my “rules” and all these make getting through the migraine easier. Here’s something I just dug up from my memory banks!! My friend had great success with cayenne (which I will have to try too!). The internet says “Cayenne pepper is actually very good for helping to rid migraines. It contains the natural healing compound, capsaicin.” You can research this too and you will see it comes in pill and liquid form and cream and gel. Keep searching! 🙏

I had the worst migraine in months for 3 days and have just tried these exercises… unsurprisingly they focus on all the exact muscle areas where I experience the pain and I’m already feeling relief. Been suffering for over a year with “rhomboid” area pain, headaches and retro orbital pain, all of which were causing pretty major sleep disturbance. I’ve seen various physiotherapists, doctors and chiropractors and none of them were able to correctly diagnose the issue or give adequate therapies. Physio and chiros seemed to just do manual therapy and then wanted to see you endlessly without ever providing strategies to prevent them. Doctors focussed on excluding serious problems but when those are ruled out the solutions are limited to analgesia (which has helped) but does not resolve the underlying problem. I’m very grateful that you have shared your knowledge and experience on these issues - both in this video and in your video on Levator scapulae. It sucks that we are left with self diagnosis for these kind of issues, but at least we have KZbin. I’d have no idea what I would do otherwise.

@@skybabe2375 hello! I have had them for a very long time and have tried pretty much everything you can think of from natural and holistic measures to prescription and even surgeries and seeing the top doctors in the US over the years, they have gotten worse for me and now or slightly better because I stay away from no one triggers, but there are some things that I cannot control such as the weather, which is a huge migraine trigger for me. I definitely try what makes sense and neck exercises hopefully will help but yes, I’ve tried everything detoxing from all medication‘s chiropractic acupuncture, a nerve block surgery, all kinds of natural holistic things changing my entire diet my sleep schedule, the type of clothing that I wear all fragrance free products in my house, because smell is a huge trigger, it has made some difference but not enough it is hereditary in my family there is no cure for migraine but you can manage it. It has taken over my life and I had to quit my job 10 years ago because I just happen to have a very sensitive system. I also suffer autoimmune conditions and fibromyalgia. But I just want to reassure you that your case and your body is individual and you can have a very different experience. Thank you for your compassion and kindness. I really hope that you are able to minimize and manage your migraines just so that you can really enjoy your life, and if you ever need any thoughts on anything natural or prescription I’m happy to let you know what I found helpful or what you might want to skip. Thank you again you are very sweet and compassionate, and just know that even though my brain has affected my life severely and I’ve had to give up a lot of things in life life is still really beautiful and precious and wonderful and I’ve just had to adapt.

A few years ago, I injured my back, the entire longissimus muscle. Touching it felt like a round cable, (inflamed, swollen and very painful), instead of laying flater. The L. capitis was the worst, I would get nauseous. In addition to this accident, I have degenerative cervical disk issues, level 3. I learned from your videos how to eventually fix it all, to a point. But, I feel almost as good as 35yrs ago. 😁

I, too, am a migraine sufferer & look forward to trying these exercises. I carry a lot of stress in my right side. When my neck gets out of alignment it can also trigger headaches. I discovered drinking warm Himalayan salt water few times a day (or Celtic salt water) to hydrate me better & increasing my magnesium intake quite a bit has greatly cut down the amt of headaches I hv been having. Hope this helps someone, too.

I’ve had a continued migraine for over 15 years and didn’t realize that’s what it was because it wasn’t just a headache, I have had all sorts of weird sensations occurring in my neck, face, jaw, forehead, and back of my head, i.e. tingling, burning, pressure that moves, numbness, skin crawling feeling, and like a static feeling different from tingling, and also vertigo. I went through all sorts of theories. Turns out for one: I make low levels of MAOA so I’ve cut everything with high Tyramine out but it takes around 2 weeks apparently to clear it all so I’m still somewhat suffering but for two: finding these exercises has helped even more in just one session of using them. Thanks for this.

The best thing you can do is pay attention to what you ate within the last 24hrs, as you move along in detoxing, the headache will sooner after you ate, until its almost immediate. Detoxing is the most important part of the healing process and unless you smacked your head, headaches come from food.

What foods to avoid in such case?
@biggybig100017 күн бұрын
@@allyfinna I;m not sure for others but for me no processed food or meat, I also do not eat meat, fish or eggs, not because of headaches. Tomatoes seaweed are a killer for me so I think nitrate food and cheeses but I got to have some, gouda is good for me. You have to see, btw, this means we have leaky gut but we can repair it.

@@biggybig1000 Thank you for replying me. I know what you mean. Same is for me, but I stopped following that diet, and currently I avoid only deep fried stuff. But I must continue my diet, it was the best! Thanks for that! I noticed that fresh air and some workouts help the most. Autumn and winter are the worst periods of migraines because we lack fresh air... Not like in a summer.

I am SO very grateful for this video. I have suffered from debilitating migraines for many years and this is probably the most helpful video I have ever seen. Do these exercices as SOON AS you feel a migraine coming. Also taking 1 teaspoon of magnesium daily has helped TREMENDOUSLY. 🎉

I must admit just watching and doing lowered the noise level a little-bit. After over ten years of this noise anything is helpfull and I can't wait to see some progress months from now? Bookmarking for sure. What would be more helpfull is if you actually go thru all the exersises so I can follow along and then I actaully do all the exercises. I stop when you stop. I know that sounds what-ever but that is just the way I am at 69yrs old.

Going to an Orthodontist and getting my jaw realigned with a retainer - this was what made my mornings headache-free. + An orthopaedic pillow. + Exercises to relax the jaws+head muscles - a good Ortodontist will teach you those. + Next step: kineto therapy for spondylosis.

I had cluster migrains for five years... They were hormonal... Left me disabled on many occasion. My daughter now suffers... I had to resort to having a full hysterectomy. My then Dr was horrid. He had me on antidepressants and epilepsy drugs for five years. Refusing to let me see my gynecologist to discuss it. It wouldn't happen today. I've learned to research holistic remedies. Also to speak up. May anyone that suffers migrains, truly find a release from the torture... Peaceful Blessings ✨💛✨🕊️🙌🏻🙏🏻🤗
@yvetteandjorgenlarsen97532 жыл бұрын
Yeah, NONE of that was the correct treatment! Everything in your body happens because a hormone 'told it' to happen, as Hormones are the 'top dogs' in the body, generally in charge of everything. He should have balanced your hormones instead of cutting on you, but he can make a lot more money by cutting-- and I'm sure he hasn't got the slightest idea how to balance your hormones.

This makes so much sense, just got an aura and did feel all the tension around my neck and back. My migraines were debilitating. So getting an aura makes me panic and I’ll have to get home. Had them for 60yrs. But learned that if I take 500gms of B3 it will go away, so now I take a tablet where ever I go. I’ve heard all sorts of “whys” but your explanation makes the most sense to me. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Wow. You nailed it! I usually have to lay down and put an ice pack from the back of my head down to my shoulder blades with it staying tight to the curve of my neck. Then, a heating pad over my forehead and face, on the low setting. I will take Tylenol migraine med beforehand and just allow myself to be still and quiet. 98% of the time, this works. However, I have had to go to the hospital due to unrelenting pain and vomiting. I have learned from there that taking an antihistamine along with the Tylenol Migraine helps a lot. I will certainly try these exercises and see if I can avoid the migraine in the first place instead of just dealing with it once I have it!
