Interesting to see that this will work as a faster and less complicated alternate format as Duel Links did for Yugioh. I wonder where do they plan to take it and how they handle the inevitable powercreep seeing they are trying to keep things relatively simple. I have hopes for how they will handle it it since the collecting seems to be the main point of the game, and as such power is not as big a requirement for selling new sets. Lets hope it does not turn into an unplayable mess without paying as Pokemon Go did.

The parts of gameplay you mentioned, evolving pretty quickly/frequently and chipping away during battle resonate with me personally and make me think of original base TCG. You had some time to level up because chipping away is all you could do with energy removal getting played a lot and damage was very relative. I'm getting lured into TCG Pocket more and more. Never have and never will spend real money on an app so I'll get behind like the majority and see all the special art cards kicking my butt. Introduce a print on demand system like Altered is claiming they will do, then I'll spend some real money to get real cards and then play Pocket irl.

When you deconstruct a card, do you get more shinedust for an Ex than you would for a single diamond card? The image for shinedust on the Bulbasaur cards had a diamond pattern and then a leaf pattern, does the leaf pattern require more shinedust as in it's another option to pick over the diamond, and/or after adding so much shinedust to a card it will have the diamond pattern and then "evolve" into the leaf pattern? Also, will fire types, water types, rock types, all have thier own shinedust special pattern? If you deconstruct a card with shinedust, do you get shinedust equal to the cards basic rarity cost, plus and shinedust on it?

Great video! I have a couple of questions 1. I've read somewhere that there isn't going to be random online battles, just local battles? Is that true? If there is online, is there any indication of a Ranked Ladder in the game? 2. Can you use the crafting system to craft 3* immersive cards? 3. Did they show the pack odds for each card rarity?

The battles will be online, one of the messages in the tutorial mentioned "... battle against AI or people around the world.".

There is no ranked ladder at launch and apparently no firm plans for one. Also, the "crafting system" is known as Pack Points; you accumulate them just by opening packs, and then you can redeem those points for any card that you want (which is not really the same thing as "crafting"). However the redemption prices are high enough that it could take months of opening packs before you have enough Pack Points to redeem one of the higher rarity cards, if you are entirely free-to-play.

It looks a little hellish for F2P player since there’s allegedly no guaranteed rarity when you pull cards. So unlike a lot of modern Gacha games, no pitty system. At least the pack point system might help but I expect a multiple mont-long grind to get alt art cards.

I hate but I’ll be thorough and also point out the the things I like. I like that’s it’s a simplified version of the game. It could be good to teach beginners or children. I like that it’s easily played on mobile. I don’t play mobile games but I know plenty of people do. I don’t like how there’s card art that isn’t available in physical printed form. I don’t like how there’s gonna be a new online Pokémon tcg game while ptcg live is still unfinished because I’m still unable to play expanded fully. I don’t like how there’s so many currencies. The only reason for doing it this way is because of microtransaction mechanics. There are microtransaction mechanics. Both a subscription and a premium currency. Putting that in a game aimed at children seems very predatory. I don’t like how there seems to be systems for enabling a fear of missing out like timed events and currencies and daily login rewards.

Like imagine when we get a Team Magma VS Team Aqua expansion, where we have one pack for each team's support and a third for the "neutral" cards. Look at Pokémon Go; that didn't have trading until years after release and the trading system re-rolls IVs and imposes a Stardust cost that scales depending on the sort of Pokémon (i.e., shiny, Legendary, regional, etc.) with discounts depending on friendship level, plus a requirement to trade in person and only with players on your friends list, and there's a daily trading limit on top of all of that. Most likely, a lot of those limitations will be implemented in Pokémon TCG Pocket as well; almost certainly you will need two devices for two accounts to trade with each other, and very likely the devices will need to be in close proximity so global remote trading will be impossible. You are beyond naive if you think that The Pokémon Company and DeNA are naive to the kind of shenanigans that people like you want to do and won't implement countermeasures. There are no NFTs in this game, and if you just think that NFTs are the same thing as digital assets, then apparently you've never heard of Pokémon Go, Pokémon Masters EX, or any other mobile Pokémon game. Even the original Pokémon games had digital assets that you could collect and trade, which were the Pokémon themselves.
