The males' behaviour is heroic. He knows the chances are high he is going to become her meal, but he continues and pushes forward to continue the cycle of the species, that is truly admirable. Dave. You make a good point of how quick he gave up. I have spent many years with this specie. I feel that when a male has already paired prior to the new pairing the female can tell by his action and vibrations. Almost saying I'm experienced and am at the end. Which I feel is his way to let the female know if we have successfully paired you can eat me. That why he hesitated so much before the pairing was good. He kinda knew she was experienced and so was he. Kinda a gift from him to her for food. Her last meal before motherhood. I think they communicate more deeply than we understand. Just my thoughts. But most of my males that get eaten by my females already had a pairing with another female.
@loganbaileytarantulabehavi15743 жыл бұрын
Maybe they know more than we think... And the female will somtimes let the male go free if he is a first timer. Kinda to give him more time to meet more females. I'm sure there is the exception to the rule but I feel a good healthy female knows when the male is spent and best kept for food to ensure healthy babies to be born.
@loganbaileytarantulabehavi15743 жыл бұрын
Just like we could tell if an old person was trying to mate with a younger female. She would know he is an old fart. Lol
@gutz3233 жыл бұрын
@@loganbaileytarantulabehavi1574 in humans, the young female would take the old fart, (male) for every penny he has got, and not his life Lol! But which ever way you look at it it will take a lot of time off of the males life.

I found your channel back in January, and since, I've..... AMAZINGLY... completely changed my attitude about spiders. I'm still uncomfortable around large spiders, primarily as I don't want to get scared and harm them, but house spiders, I can both deal with, or if necessary kill. I do irrigation for my city, and opening irrigation boxes lately I've been allowed to see some beautiful black widows, massive mommas with hourglasses, and other red spots on them. They are honestly amazing creatures, with alien and strange biological features, and behaviors. I find myself apologizing aloud when I have to clear their webs, as I know it likely means the spider will die from the lack of energy to build another one. Beautiful things. I even have found myself considering them cute. Honestly, I'm amazed at hoe just watching your appreciation of them has infected me with admiration for terrestrial arachnids. Thank you
