Thanks for not showing the whole min penalty 🤝

I hope Sam takes up Keulen’s offer on that swim camp. That swim was outright bad. Sam isn’t a top level swimmer but 30min in 2k is way slower pace than he has swam in full Ironmans.

It shows during the last races that in difficult courses (not flat) Sam seems to have no chance getting into Top3. I love him as an athlete but that Swim deficit is brutal. Interesting to see what he can achieve going forward in the sport. 2 things I have realized during the series so far: 1. the wildcards perform very good (selection of contracted athletes a fail?) and 2. Alistair Brownlee either does not care about the briefings or gets extra money for getting drafting penalty in every race (he is a pro since over 20 years how is that possible?). Still love the format and it promotes the sport well.

You can’t help but think, if Sam Long had a decent swim coach for 12-months, that he’s be on the podium in all of these races. 2km in 30 mins is 1:30/100. That is a good for an age group time, but very slow for a pro, especially in wetsuit. It wouldn’t be overly difficult to knock 10 seconds/100 off that. All then under 14’s in my kids swim club do 100’s in under 1:20. Shame because the guys bike and run is phenomenal tho

Jason West still my favorite and Sam Long still had the strongest legs in triathlon. Brownlee kid retires this year just like Javier Gomez.

You mean a double Olympic gold medalist retires? He can choose to retire any second and be a legend.
