Really hoping you get to test the CAT WB 718 and Ti. These are short (5.5") cans that weigh almost nothing. The weight for Titanium is 6.9 oz and for Inconel is 12.8 oz. These are supposed to be Hux back pressure low and have that deep low sound that competes with the best of them. I would love to see this silencer up against this Vent 3! THANK YOU for making this channel and doing the video's the way that you are. The community needed this!!

@@Ertactical You're gonna have to buy some from silencer shop or other dealers. CAT is not a suppressor company, these guys are engineers that work at an R&D company and make suppressors in their spare time for Tier 1 units. They really aren't into marketing by sending guys product to review.

Pewscience has tested both cans. The vent performs better than WB on a shorter barrel than the wb was tested with. The CAT titanium does have a really low heat rating though
@aceofliveАй бұрын
@@TheMikeshannon The WB and the Vent 3 are two different sub categories of cans. The WB is a K can while the Vent is a full size can. The WB also weighs and costs significantly less than the Vent 3. My biggest concern would be service life. Titanium baffles already don't last as long as stainless or inconel, and having the whole thing be 3D printed and porous seems like a good recipe for it to start eroding holes in itself in 3k rounds.

....and here it is!.. This is the video I was waiting for. I'm glad to see it performed good and that is a feat within itself considering it's their first suppressor. This being said, I do have some reservations mainly since it's their first and we all know how common issues usually are on initial products. The other concern is on the proprietary PIP. Most know that Titanium does have some amazing properties but unfortunately its not the best in erosion, this said I wonder how this foam like, porous formed Ti would hold up to abusing cycles or FA schedules. This basic comparison does show a positive outlook on this newcomer but I'm just wondering on long term wear & warranty. Although Bill was a great salesman, we didn't get any warranty nor factory servicing information. In retrospect, price & performance I'll take the 7.62 FLOW Ti. Thank you for this initial review guys! Great job..👏 EDIT: I covered my opinions on the rifle cans. As mentioned, 9mm platforms don't usually suffer from back pressures, as gas operated intermediate cartridge platforms do. The inflated price of hi-tech 3-D printed, Ti LBP is an advantage, I don't think the costs measures to these advantages. it's hard to justify $1500 for a pistol cartridge tube, that does not blow the competition out of the water. For less than half the price, you have options with similar performance like the Omega 9K. Again... this is just my perspective.. 😉

Too many great cans in the 800-1000 range and amazing value cans at the 400-800 range. its only "Full-Auto Capable" while the 9mm rating shows what the cans real limits might look like "120 Rounds (full auto) - 10 Minute cool down 9MM" unless you're getting a less durable 9mm suppressor for the same price as their 556/762. I don’t know if this is the right place to ask about the ptr suppressors but I have the idea that it is a porous material since they said it is a titanium ‘foam’. Does that mean that some of the gases leave the suppressor through the sides as well? Does this allow the suppressor to vent/breath better because of this. One area of concern if this is true is if you were to paint over the suppressor would that cause issues?
@SilencerSyndicate2 ай бұрын
No, the suppressor just uses that porous titanium "foam" on the inside. It mainly just results in the suppressor needing to be cleaned occasionally. We just got ours about 2 days ago, so we'll continue testing it to see how it holds up over time.

Pew Science has only tested the Nomad-L on 308 bolt gun, not 5.56 on either barrel length. I'd be curious to see the Nomad's results for sure. But the sales rep was not entirely incorrect; the measurements gathered by Pew Science for the Vent3 on the 10.3" MK18 are quieter than even the CAT WB is on a 14.5", making it the quietest (least damaging) suppressor in the 556 test matrix thus far. As far as hearing damage risk comparison; Nomad-L on 20" 308 bolt gun is 21.3 points quieter at the shooter's ear and 9.4 points quieter overall than the Vent is on the 10.3" Mk18. Largely due to it being a bolt action and having the endcap further away from the shooter's head. But the Vent on a short barrel semi auto getting that close to a top performing bolt gun suppressor like the Nomad is very impressive. Cracking the 40 zone in muzzle suppression on the MK18 has yet to be done by any other suppressor. Makes me excited for the growth of the suppression industry. Pew Science has improved customer knowledge and created a better frame of reference to better quantify performance than simply decibel meters designed for steady state noise. This new frame of reference showcases the benefits of advanced technology, which created a market for people to consider buying advanced tech instead of the same old omega baffle ripoffs that we've been fed for years.

Any thoughts on overall toughness of these cans? If my rifle falls over and the middle of the can hits the corner of a bench on the way down, is the can going to snap in half? Or be unfazed? The Vent 3 looks awesome in how quiet it is. But, I can't help thinking it looks flimsy. Like it would break from staring at it too hard. A buddy of mine loves his Thunderbeast cans because he says they're quiet AND he can use them as a club if all else fails. Obviously the rifle speed has adjuster is useful for the channel but for a rifle with a dedicated can, I’m assuming it would not be worth it? Or would you disagree?
@Ertactical2 ай бұрын
I think that it’s worth it, but be ready to tinker. You might have to take it to the range three times before it really settles in to how you want it to be. You may have to change buffers and buffer weights. You may have to change plungers. So as long as you’re willing to tinker, it’s a great device. If you don’t want to tinker, doing a single adjustment, and setting it up for your unsuppressed rifle. Then Pete Ian lightly overcast with your suppressor. Or dedicate a suppressor to that rifle and never take the suppressor off and then you can turn the gas to that suppressor.

Another great video, as for buying it, I may have to wait. I’m looking at the X2 Dev Group OrionX Suppressor which is slightly less expensive than the Vent suppressor. I have their rifle so I want that can on it. As for getting a decibel meter, I would seek out other KZbin content creators that have one and maybe collaborate with them. So far everything you have done is great I truly appreciate what you are doing. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Great question, we have been testing a few of those as of recently and I can say that I’m not in love. I don’t own a C5, but I have clients that do. I’ll see about getting my hands on one for testing. The PWS suppressor we are told on the way. The rugged 556 suppressor so far we don’t love. But it’s an OK suppressor. I’ll let the data show in some of our upcoming videos.

My real question is long term capability of the can given the purposefully induced porosity. Have you thought about getting a Flow 556 Ti?
@Ertactical23 күн бұрын
we do have a flow K and we like it. I don't think I am too interested in anymore of the Flow cans as they are really loud. so many other company's are making low BP cans that are actually quiet. If Hux sends one then we will test it but they are just so loud that its hard to be excited about them.

There are SO DAMN MANY OPTIONS ! I've been looking and learning and still know nothing, I was hoping to have just one that can do 556 and 300BLK by changing mount and end cap . The 300BLK is the most difficult to tune in the back pressure for sub's I may have to have a dedicated can for that , which means I'd have to have two one for each. Death air sand man L, or Omega 36M , YHM 30 , HUXWRKS . Cost - sound - weight each are important.

.308 testing on a G3? Are you me? And I think the price is probably due to the manufacturing and R&D. Not 100% sure, but I don't think there's any other can on the market that uses that particular style of flow-through design so they probably spent a lot in testing to make it work as well as it does. But anyway, looks like I'm adding the Vent 3 to my wishlist with backpressure and sound performance like that. Just have to see Sig's SLX and Radical's 5.56 can now, and flash performance from all of them before I make my final call.

Just a head up: I feel like this "foam 3d printed technology" is going to get copied almost immediately. Most 3d printed suppressors are made using DMLS (or other more expensive) 3d printers all costing in the $10s of thousands hence the reason I don't have any experience with that exact type of 3d printer but I do own several 3d printers both FDM and DLP (the 2 most common types which use plastic and UV cure resin respectively) and while they all use totally different technology the making of foam type stuff on FDM printers happens accidentally all the time and it can be programmed to do it they just almost never print metals because its better to do it with DMLS typically and most people don't even know you can print metal on FDM printers if you use a very special type of material and then sinter it aka throw it in a very powerful special high temp oven. DMLS 3d printers work way differently and basically have a bed of metal powder and a laser melts a design into that layer on the bed of powder then the machine pushes another layer on top of it and the process repeats over and over again until you have a mostly finished part then you do the sintering and post processing and all that. In other words I can think of a couple ways the "3d printed foam" could probably be done and I'm no expert so if the suppressor really is that good then you can bet other manufacturers are already working on copying it and testing different ways to do so and I don't think it's probably as hard to make or do as they make it seem. Also I feel like it could be done on a FDM 3d printer too in which case I'd know exactly how they do it and exactly why the cost is as high as it is because the type of FDM material you'd use is expensive as hell last time I checked and again with that type of printer it should be very easy to recreate they would just probably have to do even more post processing work than DMLS printed parts which its usually the other way around. Anyway its all complicated and props to them for the ingenuity and I hope they make some good money if it is that good but I wouldn't count on that being the only one to use that "technology" for very long and with competition comes price drops

PEW Science is good for DB readings. They're only as good as the equipment used, and that isn't cheap. Subjective is fine in video format.
@Ertactical2 ай бұрын
We agree, a decimal reader would be helpful in someways and in someways not. Our subjective hearing test is currently our favorite. Once we have decimal readings, we will compare it to our subjective test and I expect we will find similar results. However, there are some things that are here that a decimal reader doesn’t quite pick up. Not as far as frequencies go, but more along the line of tone. One tone can be offensive at the same volume, where another tone can be non-offensive at the same volume.

It wasn’t our rifle, PTR likely tuned the rifle for a suppressor, which is frankly a good thing to do for any rifle running a suppressor.
