I love the custom control of multiple cameras! I do have an issue, that I can't find a solution for: I have one PTZoptics cam, and three Panasonic cams connected to my super joy. I've set multiple presets for all four cameras. I've created supersets for the custom buttons, but only the PTZoptics camera moves - the other three do not go to their presets. All cameras are connected using RS422 for super joy control, and like I said - they all work fine on their own with their presets...thoughts?

The Super Preset function only works for PTZOptics cameras as it leverage the PTZOptics HTTP-CGI commands for control. That being said this same functionality can be built using the [CUSTOM] buttons and the UART option to send VISCA commands as necessary via RS422 for control. To assist in getting you up and running, and based on the single instances working for each camera just not in super presets, the VISCA Preset command would be as follows "81 01 04 3F 02 pp FF" where pp represents the preset number in HEX... as an example recalling Preset 1 on Camera 1 would look like 81 01 04 3F 02 01 FF, Preset 2 on Camera 1 would be 81 01 04 3F 02 pp FF, Preset 1 on Camera 3 would be 83 01 04 3F 02 01 FF and so forth.

Thank you for Superpreset tutorial. I have one question is it possible to connect the super joy to wirecast and use it as switcher ? How can I maximaze or take advantage of Superpreset during live production?
@StreamGeeks
@StreamGeeks 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes it is possible to connect the SuperJoy to Wirecast if you take the HDMI output and connect it to Wirecast with an HDMI to USB adapter. This will input the video from your cameras into Wirecast and you could use the SuperJoy as a video switcher. But ideally all the cameras are bought into Wirecast already and you use the SuperJoy for PTZ camera controls.

You would probably want to get a streaming software. OBS is free and it works great

Can the PTZ Optics SuperJoy be used to control the white balance and other settings in the BirdDog P200?

It can control the cameras. That is all we currently know. More advanced settings may not work.

Can you show us how the HDMI display looks when switching cameras on a monitor ? I would like to see the latency and exactly how usable this port is to me.

Hey Paul, I know you specialize in ptz optics cams but I was hoping you could point me in the right direction. I’m trying to help a client get some ptz cameras online, I can see their IP address using bonjour browser but I can’t get the live video to show up in obs or vmix. I used your ip camera obs video with no luck. Thanks in advance.

Hello! If you can see the PTZOptics cameras' IP addresses using Bonjour Browser but are unable to get the live video feed to show up in OBS or vMix, there could be several factors at play. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue: 1. Confirm Camera Network Configuration: - Ensure the cameras are correctly configured on the network. If you can access their web interface via their IP addresses, this is a good sign. - Check the network settings within the camera's interface to ensure they're correctly set up for your network. 2. Verify Streaming Settings in Camera: - Access the camera's web interface and check the streaming settings, such as RTSP or NDI settings, depending on what you are using. - For RTSP, note the correct stream URL (usually something like rtsp://[IP_ADDRESS]/1). 3. Test the Stream URL: - Test the camera's stream URL in a video player like VLC to confirm that the camera is correctly streaming video. - If the stream doesn't work in VLC, the issue might be with the camera's streaming settings or network configuration. 4. Configure OBS/vMix: - In OBS or vMix, add the camera as a source using the correct method (e.g., Media Source for RTSP or NDI Source for NDI). - Make sure to enter the correct stream URL or select the correct NDI source. 5. Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings: - Ensure that your firewall or antivirus is not blocking OBS or vMix from accessing the network. 6. Network Bandwidth and Quality: - Verify that your network can handle the bandwidth requirements of the PTZOptics cameras, especially if you are using multiple cameras or high-quality settings. 7. Software and Firmware Updates: - Ensure that both OBS/vMix and your PTZOptics cameras are updated to the latest versions. 8. Try an Alternative Protocol: - If you are using RTSP, try switching to NDI, or vice versa, to see if one works better in your setup. 9. Reboot Equipment: Sometimes, rebooting the cameras, computer, and network equipment can resolve connection issues. 10. Consult Documentation or Support: - Refer to the PTZOptics documentation for specific instructions on setting up streaming with OBS and vMix. If the problem persists, consider reaching out to PTZOptics support or the support teams of OBS or vMix for further assistance.

Hello! If you're experiencing issues with a PTZOptics joystick controller not moving the camera or controlling the zoom, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue. Here’s a systematic approach: 1. Check Power and Connections: - Ensure the joystick controller is properly powered and turned on. - Verify that all the cables (network or serial, depending on your setup) are securely connected between the joystick and the PTZOptics camera. - If you’re using a network connection, check that both the joystick and camera are on the same network and the network is functioning correctly. 2. Camera Compatibility and Address: - Confirm that the joystick controller is compatible with the PTZOptics camera model you are using. - Check that the camera address on the joystick matches the camera’s set address (usually found in the camera’s settings). 3. Camera Control Protocol: - Ensure that the control protocol set on the joystick (e.g., VISCA, Pelco-D, Pelco-P) matches the protocol used by the camera. - If using VISCA over IP, confirm the IP settings including the camera’s IP address. 4. Firmware and Software: - Check if there are any firmware updates available for both the PTZOptics camera and the joystick controller. An outdated firmware can sometimes lead to compatibility issues. - If applicable, update the firmware following the manufacturer's instructions carefully. 5. Test with Another Device: - If possible, try using the joystick with another PTZOptics camera to determine if the issue is with the joystick or the specific camera. - Conversely, try controlling the camera with a different control method, such as the camera’s web interface or another controller, to see if the camera responds. 6. Joystick Configuration: - Review the configuration settings of the joystick controller. Ensure that settings like baud rate and control protocol are correctly set according to your camera’s specifications. 7. Physical Inspection: - Inspect the joystick for any physical damage. Check the buttons, joystick, and knobs for any signs of wear or damage. 8. Consult the Manual: - Refer to the joystick’s user manual for specific troubleshooting tips and instructions. The manual often contains information on indicator lights or error messages that can be helpful. 9. Contact Support: - If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may be best to contact PTZOptics support directly for assistance. They might have additional troubleshooting steps or may require you to send in the joystick for repair. When troubleshooting, it’s important to change only one variable at a time and test the system after each change. This way, you can identify which specific change resolves the issue. Remember, careful handling of the equipment during troubleshooting is important to avoid any additional damage.

You would get more people subscribing if you stop talking like a commercial. KZbin is a place people go to to find answers to problems. What your talking about is common sense. What people is looking for that will cause them to go and buy is product is for you to show step by step on setup with your cams. Showing what cables to use and how to get the keyboard to communicate with the cams. What would also help is showing how to connect multiple cams to this controller. I sent a controller back because it did not come with instructions. Something to think about.
