Public Enemies: The Outlaws and the FBI, a 90th Anniversary Retrospective

At our July 18, 2024 program, we spoke to a panel of experts about American outlaws whose exploits earned them celebrity status during the early 1930s, including John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and George “Machine Gun” Kelly. In response, FBI director J. Edgar Hoover transformed his mild-mannered investigative agency into a relentless gun-toting force determined to take down these “public enemies.”

Tony and Ellen are great researchers, authors, and historians. Joe Urschel is not an historian. He has repeated the myths and falsehoods about Kathryn and George Kelly. These myths were created by Hoover for the conviction of the Kellys in court. Urschel has no idea what he is talking about. The museum could have done much better to get a third historian for this event.

So many falsehoods No mention of Herman Karl "The Baron" Lamm or of the Lamm Technique Just research this Era on your own because it's amazing but I'm disappointed by the falsehoods here
