Sad Johnny Juice was relegated to very tiny credits - when he carries this track. From memory isn't he mentioned on the first PE album as 'rhythm scratch' ? interesting title. I remember first hearing this late night on CBC radio around 1989. Blew me away and one of the reasons I got into DJ turntablism !

Peace Johnny Juice, YOU'RE man! Your scratches on the PE tracks are TIMELESS! They still resonate with me, as a DJ of 38 years of spinning. And I still practice my scratches along tracks like "You Gonna Get Yours', to get some inspiration. Thank you for your great talents on my two favorite PE albums, "Yo Bum Rush The Show" and, "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back". Also you deserve much more credit than you're getting fam as well, so keep up the good work, RESPECT!

Man oh man, I haven’t seen this cover in forever. I can remember so vividly that summer of ‘88. Me and my friend were actually sitting at his house listening to his mixtape he brought back from Cali from KDAY Mixmaster Show with Rebel on it. We didn’t know when the new album was coming out. We then hopped in his car and drove to the record store to see what new stuff was out, saying man wouldn’t it be dope if P.E.’s new album was out. Sure enough we walked in and their it was. They always had all the vinyl down on the floor and propped up against the wall. We couldn’t hardly contain ourselves. We snatched that bad boy up, went back to his house and listened to it several times. I of course ran to my house and grabbed a blank tape to make a copy for my Walkman. What good times. Walking into stores and seeing new releases I didn’t about and calling the stores every week and asking if certain new albums were out. And then racing my bike 6 miles across town to buy it, and then just enjoying the slow ride back home listening to it either on my Walkman or boom box. Now everything is just right at your fingertips. Don’t get me wrong I love all the instant access now. But back In the day obtaining music was just something special. Edited: apparently I forgot to breathe and left out some commas and periods. 😁OCD

This along with Jazzy Jeff's Hip Hop Dancer's Theme are quite possibly the best examples of old school turntablism (IE: pre-Traktor) ever recorded. I've valued my original vinyl 12" of this since it was released. An awesome fucking exploration of the track.

Awesome to see the amazing Johnny Juice getting the props he greatly deserves. It's a shame most of us were led to believe it was all down to TX. I found out it was Johnny juice about 16 years ago, or there abouts. You know how to reach us & give me the mic i played to death back in 1987. BIG UP JJ. Nuff respect.

I'm not sure when I heard about it, but there's a chapter on this song in the official PE book Don't Rhyme For the Sake of Riddlin'. I remember buying Greatest Misses and the songs that I liked a lot was this one and Shut 'em Down (live). The new songs (1-6) were interesting, but not as good as those that were before (1987-1991). As far as Juice goes I think that I saw his name in the credits for Greatest Misses as a past member, but I never had a clue about how he was associated with PE. I didn't learn about it until years ago which was very interesting. TX was their live DJ but Johnny Juice scratched the shit out of the records on the first two PE albums. Too bad that he didn't get the credits that he deserved, but I guess that it's record business bullshit, as I would call it. My point is that people should get the credits for what they do, it shouldn't be about who is kissing the most ass or who is lucky enough to know who.
