Haha, and this is exactly the reason I created this version in the first place ;) I basically took an MP3 of the original Schoolly D track (taken from the KONY soundtrack) and sped it up using a sound editor to 113.8 RPM- which is what I decided sounds the most like the version playing in the club raid scene in the movie. If you'd like a download of the MP3 I've uploaded it to Mediafire, the link's in the video description. Peace!

Finally someone clever enough to post a version just like from the movie. Ya the movie version is faster than the original album version, but for those who have heard this track first when watching The King of New York this is spot on. If you went out and bought the album/cd then you would have noticed it was much slower. By the way, the album is great, but it is nice to have this faster movie version to hear also to re live the movie. Now let's see if we can find any explanation from the movie

Outstanding soundtrack which supercharges a breakthrough movie. Arguably the greatest gangster movie of all time. Christopher Walken's performance, of a man trying to right old wrongs on borrowed time will probably never be equalled.

The funny thing is I never thought the original sounded slow until I watched KONY years later (didn't come across the film personally until around 2004). There are quite a few samples used for this track. The one I can pick out straight away is Soul Power '74 by Maceo & The Macks, but if it's the vocal sample you're asking about then that would be Am I Black Enough For You by Billy Paul.
