That was a good hunt and calling. When I call and get the hen upset sometimes you get the hen in your lap but no gobbler. Hood job. 😊

WTG. We were down that way this year, drew some permits, the one morning they were gobbling good we set up about 100 yards out from three gobblers roosted with hens across a field and right at daylight two guys drive right by my truck, park, walked up the hill and right out in the field, and stuck decoys in the field, and started hammering on a hen call. Just unbelievable. Birds flew down and took off the other direction.

Great experience and thanks for the uploads to keep us learning and entertained. Meanwhile, I've gone 3 times this season and haven't even heard a gobble. Last season I got skunked too. I don't really mind the slump except that it ruins it for my kids making them tired and bored and I'm afraid they'll give up soon. Just hard to figure out where to go and what to do and there's more hunters than good property within driving distance. It's like fishing but never getting a bite. So frustrating

DAMN I MISS MY ROCKY TOP!!! I am in "ALMOST HEAVEN WV"..still 5 days till Opener! 2018...before I moved away from...Chattanooga Suburb, Soddy Daisy....Mowbray Mountain.... Heard 7 Birds Gobbling!!!! Funny Story!!! I traded a Feller I worked with at USG Plant in Bridgeport Al. traded a AL Turkey hunt for a Wv Bow hunt(for Deer). Walked in, to Skyline WMA...to have a Gobbler lock up at 60 yards...He called in another hunter...CHIT. ALL GOOD!!! I havent shook tthat hard since my First Youth Hunt with Dad!! Land Between The Lakes WMA..1982'. He(Co-Worker Mark Roberson) hunted with me the next season at my place(2630 Poe Rd Soddy Daisy,TN)!!!!! We heard at least 11 different birds gobbling! HOOKED FOR LIFE!!! Talk about good times?

I had turkey gobble at me a bounce in the afternoon on yesterday 12 April. It was coming in a then nothing. I try get in front of but did not make it. It gobble one more time in different location. After that I just gave up. But I will back at it Wednesday. Being the Army kind hurts my hunting. I still get at it when I can. I love change more than the kill.
