PUBLIC OPINION: Do you support deploying European troops to Ukraine?

French President Emmanuel Macron drew a line in the sand, refusing to say that he would never send French troops to Ukraine, as Russia continues its full-scale invasion. Some say Macron went too far. Others applauded the French leader.
Kyiv Post asked people on the streets of Paris and London whether or not they supported sending European troops to defend Ukraine. Most of the people Kyiv Post spoke to were not quite ready to commit European troops to Ukraine under the current circumstances. Some said that it should've already been done.

Whether or not western nations intend to send troops into Ukraine, they should send a clear message to Putin that all options are on the table. Telling him we won't do this, we won't do that, only projects fear. Putin understands only one thing: force.

The Problem is: Sending troops alone would not solve the equipment issues, and maybe even make it worse. Although the idea may sound appropriate at a first glance, the various consequences must be considered. This not only includes supplying the troops, but also taking precautions for possible retaliation of P°°tin in the countries the troops were sent from. And the latter will also include terrorist attacks to the infrastructure and the population, because this is what a coward like him would do.

In January 2022, Zelensky signed the order to assemble a 40,000 strong task force to 'take back Donbas'. On 16th Feb '22, the OSCE recorded more than 40 ceasefire breaches, as the UA began shelling Donbas, rising to more than 2,000 a day on 20th, 21st and 22nd. On 24th Feb, as requested under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Russia stepped in to stop it. This would be when you would send US troops to allow Kiev to continue the genocide, is it?

I like to defend the French, we Germans are in no way different and our plurality makes us stronger. Sadly I have to agree with your findings of Russian meddling on our political process and to propagandize the Russian diaspora living in the west which are even more vulnerable to Russian influence and that is in no way a condemnation. It is a difficult issue. If one NATO country like Francs decides to send troups to Ukraine, what happens then if Russia sends a missile direction Paris. Then all NATO countries are at war. NATO should have sent in troops from the very start. Place them along the Northern border to protect Ukraine, not to attack Russia or Russian troops unless they are themselves attacked then all bets are off. This would release Ukraine's troops to the front line. A couple of Divisions in the North and an enhanced Brigade near Moldova (Transnistria). If those being interviewed knew what war was really like, if they really had any understanding of what Putin is and will do; they may understand that we cannot escalate this situation any more; it is already full scale war. There is only one way to stop this, and that is to defeat this invasion of the West by the Terrorist regime in Russia.

Putin accepted Crimea's application to join the Russian Federation in 2014 - but rejected the applications from the DPR and LPR, believing the Minsk Agreements would give them protection. Russia stepped in to stop the slaughter of the ethnic- Russian people of Donbas in February 2022, as requested under Article 51 of the UN Charter. Is that what you call 'invasion'
