Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Discussion at Yucaipa City Council Meeting

Who decided to shut off the power in Yucaipa? Why didn’t the City put up temporary stop signs at intersections with inoperable traffic lights? Why wasn’t a local emergency declared? Why wasn’t the City providing food and shelter? Why wasn’t more information available on when power would be restored? Were there any serious injuries or deaths in Yucaipa as a result of the power shutoff? What is the appropriate role of the City in an event like this?
