I have been fortunate enough to see PSB live on three separate occasions. The first time was at a gig in Chester in a pub with about 200 people. It has been great to see them expand yet still be the same band. More success for PSB should be assured. Best of luck guys!!

aside from the music, what's really blowing my mind here is seeing how steam locomotives -- pieces of incredibly precise engineering and very narrow tolerance requirements -- were manufactured almost entirely by hand. It's wild.

I was always amazed at how my Dad and my Uncle in the past were able to make things in wood and metalwork, they had a lathe and both were mechanics, if something was broken they could fix it. Todays society don't have the ability to fix things, they just replace the item. I'm basically thinking of the last time I took my car in because on an engine light on, The garages have replaced many parts of my VOLVO V70 but the engine light is still on! Says it all about todays work force, all managers but no one actual doing the job.

This is a really good album and a couple of tracks particularly blow me away; Everest and Spitifire, several others really really growing on me now too. I had the pleasure of seeing them live recently and they were amazing, the music, the footage, the amazing light shows, the props, the sense of humour all slotted together for a brilliant live band. Nice of you to post this on here for us but I must also add that the little films specifically for these pieces are well worth watching too.

Andrew Francis Spitfire was my first PSB experience and no better way to get into totally innovative new music. Growing up in the 70's, the last 20+ years is filled with nothing which will stand the test of time. Instant 'fame' Boy Bands, Simon Cowell etc. This is a hard graft, grass roots group that are doing how it used to be. Playing in a dive pub to less than 50 people and building up a following. Saw them at The Roundhouse on Thursday and were brilliant. Ticket bought for Brixton Academy in November . Can't wait.

Yeah I generally agree about the commercialism and general mediocrity of the past 20 years. Good to see a group like this growing in popularity, they're making some great music and I hope they continue to do so :) Have a nice gig, they're spectacular live!

I've come late to the party as I only heard Spitfire for the first time the other day, thanks FBI radio. Blown away after following up here on KZbin. Am now telling all my friends to check out the output on here as I think this is wonderful that the ancestors contribution to society has been resurrected through the videos with a magnificent soundtrack. I'd love to watch the videos with the original narration if you have links please. Fascinating to see how a steam train was built by craftsmen back in the day, shameful that such skills mostly gone now. Reminds me of an acquaintance who reckoned his job was to put the steering mechanisms on the old trains. On a side note another band to check out flying under the radar is Amyl and the Sniffers, hottest rock chick since Chrissy Amphlett (Divinyls).

Health service close to crumbling. Money for schools being capped -so fuck education. Cuts to public spending. Towns centres being reduced to nothing more than pound, betting and charity shops.
@thegregbrookhouse86677 жыл бұрын
salvadormarley I agree some quality has gone down, but in other ways its vast improved. I want a better use of public spending but I can't complain about new technology, trains, roads ect still improving our quality if living. I'm in the south so I may have a skewed perception, ik the north gets far less attention.
@salvadormarley7 жыл бұрын
Of course you are correct about technology and standard of living. It's the things i mentioned that have me worried. I'm in the North but I don't think that's really an issue as there is plenty of work for those willing to seek it. I wish we could take the best from the past and the present and combine the two. That would be great. All the best.
@thegregbrookhouse86677 жыл бұрын
salvadormarley I agree, we have lost our grand individualism as a nation. I can't grasp what is missing but I know our country hasn't changed for the best.
