I've recently discovered this group and what they do with old historical recordings combined with their music is beautiful and addictive. I like Richard Burton's narration - it shows respect for those who worked below ground under hazardous conditions. Brilliant.

I just disovered these masterclass musicians.Been playing their whole work at least once per day since. The LP is particularly beautiful, as the unusual historical theme is genuinely interesting but virtually unnoticed outside of Wales (maybe the whole UK, but here in Austria I would never have examined it). Above all, the theme gives atttention a multitude of political/social issues that affect us to this day, like the basic necessity of concentrated sources of energy, which has mainly just bin outsourced to Asia, legitimate male heroism - risking ones live in the pit does relly benefit the society as a whole, whereas war only serves the elites, labour movement beyond pure ideology, political neglect, women's role and so much more. All these topics are depicted without taking sides and absolutely devoid of ideology - really does justice to complexity of those issues. Altogehter an absolutely outstanding achievement!
