I was asked to speak at a school to hundreds of junior high students. I used this opportunity to tell them a story about how growing up different was my curse when I was younger but turned into my greatest blessing. This film is the break down of how I prepared for the presentation, the advice of other storytellers, and my reactions before and after the presentation.

Anthony, if only we could articulate the feeling we get when you share “you”. Your story, your why, your how, your passion, your “you” - the world is so fortunate that you have a way of being able to let us see it through your eyes. Whether that is through films or pictures or small clips of children wanting to be in your space in hopes of receiving a high five. We thank you. As always, I am captivated.

Anthony, I am so happy you said YES to this experience and were able to overcome your nerves to deliver this presentation. As someone who has worked in a school for two years now, I know how impactful it must have been for the kids (and the teachers might I add) to hear your story. All too often many of us feel boxed into following a certain path because it feels safe to do so... exposing the kids to your unique journey has surely stimulated their thoughts and will hopefully inspire them to pursue an untravelled path one day. You're a legend, Anthony! I know the kids will remember how you inspired them to 'do things differently'! Keep sharing your light with the world! ☀

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Isabella. Boxed in was the best way you could've described that feeling. I got that feeling afterwards that most do when they...seek discomfort. I think you know something about those words! Thank you for taking the time to watch this 🖤

You speak about taking risks and how that action has opened doors for you throughout your life... you just did it again... (differently). You might be called upon a few more times before your public speaking days are done! I'm sure you inspired so many kids that day that now have permission to do it differently and think differently. I would love for you to come to my school next year whenever you are back in Canada. Stay safe out there Anthony, you are a treasure.

David! Your opinion on this topic is held to the highest regard. Thank you for watching it all and saying those words. I think I may have to take another chance or two to speak when they arise! (Already nervous thinking about it lol)

This was wonderful, Anthony. My eyes were constantly tearing up throughout this film, but it first hit with the voice messages and then the next was hearing the things that you were telling the kids. The things you were saying to them I needed to hear when I was their age, so my inner child hearing you say this really helped to comfort her and reassure her I suppose in a way, even if she hasn’t quite gotten to where she wants to be yet-to know her dreams are valid and they take time and can be obtained… That’s something big, and it’s something that kids need to hear. I can’t imagine the impact that you’ve made on those kids, even if it’s just one. I am certain your story will echo.

Anthony… first of all, before I watched this I knew it was going to inspire me and it SO did. I love how you are you at all times, it’s beautiful. I know you said you wish you articulated a little better but Anthony that right there… the state of being imperfect is really what impacts the kids. It shows them that people who do cool things and who are “famous” in their eyes, are just normal people. (I don’t like to use the word normal, but hopefully you know what I mean). To them, you are a human who came from right where they did and is accomplishing amazing things. You messing up a sentence or stuttering and forgetting a line is exactly what the kids need to see. The world needs to see that it’s okay to make mistakes in life. Whether it be in school, work, a presentation, a video, or a performance… mistakes are what makes you better and what makes you relatable. Also… this was so perfect for you because you are a true example of taking your passions and turning them into a career. It’s POSSIBLE to do more and be more. You definitely truly inspired these kids. Well done Anthony and I cannot wait for the next one!

Thank you for reminding me that somethings in life are better left unpolished because thats the human experience - imperfect. Also thank you for watching this properly without any distraction that way you have always done! Can't wait to see what you do on stage when your time(s) come, Eva.

Amazing job with this video! Speaking from the heart and following your intuition even if it leads you to a different path takes courage. But you're right. You'll never know what opportunities might come your way and what your life could look like 👏

There are few things in life that hit as hard as inspiration (pretty sure only nostalgia and heroine are equal (also pretty sure that checks out)). We have all felt it at one point or another, but over the years and the multiple floors we all climb to the "level of success" we strive for...few take the time to send the elevator back down. Service of others is the soul purpose of evolution (in my humble opinion). Moving forward is the action of progress, and the best part is you can't always see it but you can always feel it. You took the time to give back, and in result likely have changed multiple kids direction in life.

Eric, thank you for substituting your heroine addiction with my film - it means alot you would find inspiration through this than your ususal wreckless use of life-ruining hard drugs. Lol, but for real, thanks for always being in my corner and helping me grow as a storyteller.
