Public Street Art Gallery Lisboa - Portugal 2024

Lisbon 2017:
Urban art is now one of the hallmarks of the municipality of Loures and is at its best in the Quinta do Mocho Public Art Gallery (GAP) in Sacavém.
Already considered to be the largest urban art gallery in Europe, the GAP brings together a collection of works by various national and foreign artists who spontaneously joined forces with the Municipality of Loures in this social intervention, the aim of which was to change the image of this area marked by the stigma of a ‘social neighbourhood’.
An intervention that involved the artistic qualification of the buildings, urban requalification, but above all the mobilisation of residents around the idea of showing the neighbourhood to the world and bringing the world to the neighbourhood, thus fostering their sense of belonging.
GAP had more than half a hundred works of street art at its disposal, at the level of the best in Portugal and the world.
