Nice broad summary of a Public Vs Private Blockchain, thank-you. ) Couple of things I'd like to point out though. I'd disagree that consensus algorithm is not possible in public blockchains. I'd suggest its better to say that ALL blockchains require some kind of mechanism that controls consensus and state of the chain! Proof of Work in the public bitcoin network is certainly a type of Consensus mechanism. Also, on the last point, I think you mean "collusion" instead of "collision"?

To add another point I would also argue about the lesser scalability of public blockchains, since they allow for more nodes to be added

In other words private blockchain is just an immutable interlinked database with a command centre. That's to say that it is not a blockchain at all. Just adding proof of work and transaction history redundancy does not make a database a blockchain.

Well, my friend, blockchain is a complex technology, but is a simple concept really. You keep trust at the center of it. At a very basic level, blockchains are ledgers shared among computers (nodes) around the world, it is these ledgers which are immutable. Lastly, I'd like to confirm that blockchain is NOT a new technology, but a synching of technologies.
