The Modified Thrie Beam Guardrail

The Modified Thrie Beam Guardrail - Federal Highway Administration - Video VH-2B - The thrie beam guardrail has been modified to improve performance in large-vehicle impacts by increasing the depth and energy-absorbing capacity of the block-out. Crash tests show that this design can safely contain and redirect a wider range of vehicles than other W-beam designs. Terminals and transitions are shown. Costs of installation and repair are discussed, and the design is recommended for sites with heavy traffic.

What do you think would've happened to the kids on the school bus in that crash at 1:17. I think the kids would've been tossed out of they're seats and hit their heads against the rigid roof and also this was one of those older buses without the roll bars.
