Publish Excel Workbooks as Interactive Webpages

Here is a demonstration of the steps to take to publish an Excel workbook as an Interactive Webpage.
I also demonstrate how to work interactively with the workbook on the Internet. Next, I send the changed workbook back to Excel so that I can share my changes with colleagues.

Hi Jerry - Yes, beginning with Excel 2007, it is not longer to select "Publish as an Interactive Worksheet." So, unless you have an (expensive) server available, the only possibility is to save the worksheet to your Windows SkyDrive. In fact, in Excel 2013 to be released soon, the default setting for all new workbooks is to "Save to SkyDrive!" Yikes! Danny Rocks The Company Rocks

Can users add info to the spreadsheet or just manipulate the spreadsheet? How do I stop people from "stealing" my spreadsheet?

Will the excel file do calculations online as well i.e. calculate based on data within the file? Secondly if the file size is 80mb, will the file work online?

If you look at the icons, this is a version before xl2007.

@KellyAnne88kj Hello - This has been a problem starting with Excel 2007 and continuing with Excel 2010. As you may know, those file fomats changed and Excel no longer offers the "Publish as Interactive Webpage" option. I finally figured out how to do this for Excel 2007 and 2010. I have now started to store copies of my workbooks and documents in a "Shared SkyDrive" on the MS Live.com soace - in "the cloud." Go to my website (TheCompanyRocks) and I have a recent posting about this topic.

hi danny, i understand that with excel 2007 and above the feature for interactive editing is deprecated and you recommend to use skydrive instead. I have a requirement where i cannot upload my worksheet to intranet for obvious security policies and intent them to publish only in the intranet. can this be achieved?

Hello Jonathan could you comment also a little on the comments about the excel versions that will work with 'html conversion' with newer browsers ? Otherwise this video is a little silly for 2018 if its only working with IE. Thanks.

Using MS OfficeXP, I get an error "To use this web page interactively, you must have Microsoft IE 4.01 SP! or later and the MS Office Web Components." But I do. What is wrong here?

this is BAD SHEET ... REALLY no, I'm not talking about the fact that office 2003 is no more, I'm talking about the fact that IS WORKING *ONLY* WITH INTERNET EXPLORER *AND OFFICE 2003 EXTENSION* TO SEE THE RESULTED PAGE, in other word, "publish" for 0.0000000001% of the ppl with office 2003 web extensions, that's almost NO ONE ... I have excel 2007 for windows, and excel 2011 for mac but neither has this marvellous little checkbox "add interactivity". So i bought microsoft office 2016 to get the very latest version of excel and, guess what, no interactive checkbox. So how to publish an excel workbook as interactive webpage using excel 2016?
