I can vouch that this cd is well worth owning regardless of the thousands of recordings you may own of Giacomo Puccini's compositions. You will love this cd.
Just ordered the CD. Listening to piano transcriptions is a great way to further understand the music of the opera---

very beautiful indeed, thanks for posting, This is one of the best ways to really get under the hood of Puccini's music and appreciate the undercurrent of melodies and counterpoints. please share more as I dont seem find this album in the UK
Thank you for posting this here. I'm familiar with Bayless's work, but didn't want to order the album until I had some idea what it sounded like. It's beautiful, and I'm looking forward to owning a copy.

Dear Kevin - You're very welcome. I think you'll love the album. I have two other CDs by him, Bayless Meets Bernstein and Romantica, neither of which touches me like this album. Puccini's sappiness with the added Bayless supreme romanticism, you can't find anything sweeter or more beautiful than that. Happy listening. :-}

Maira Leikarte it’s a bit soupy but those Puccini tunes really get to you. They do to me anyway ..,

Both composers deal with longing! A common trait of the 20th-21th century artist.
