Wow. I would have modded the air intake using a silicone tube or something similar. Your forward facing intake would be awesome to keep around your shop when you are tuning customer bikes since it makes jet changes and carb adjustments super easy.

You couldn’t have flexed that mlm pipe a bit to fit? I did with my cali on my maxi, but maybe that was dumb?

I don't think flexing to fit is a good idea. It will always have that pressure on your exhaust studs and I think it will cause your exhaust gasket to blow out.

Do you think you'll need a reinforced fork like they have on the magnums?

No, not if you keep the front fender on it. The front fender acts as a brace and fender. If no fender, then it should get an aftermarket fork brace.

I agree. I normally do but this one is an 84 and was running well so I we are going to let it buck and maybe replace it later and case match when we do.
