This is the thing though , people are watching this thinking this applies to all two strokes when it doesn’t . If you got all the biggest power strokes you’d find not all have this. Every two stroke design is different

I also have a 3 wire 72v to 12v dc converter, do you think i have any issues with common ground, as on the 12v side i have a 12v lithium battery as required by the rules as per below, does anyone know if the 4 wire versions on amazon are common ground ?

Is it good to use a fuse on the high voltage input to the DC onverter for safety?
@Corn-ped4 күн бұрын
Yeah totally. Figure out your draw and size it by 1.25%
@raczyk4 күн бұрын
@@Corn-ped But if I have a load of 6 amps at 12 volts on the load side. Would the amperage draw on the 48 volt feeder of the DC-DC-converter side not be different?
@Corn-ped4 күн бұрын
@@raczyk just put a 10a fuse on the load side.
@Corn-ped4 күн бұрын
Yeah it would be 1.5 amps at 48v. But I don't think you can get a 2a fuse. So I would run a 10a fuse on the 12v side.
@raczyk3 күн бұрын
@Corn-ped I see. Just to understand the fuse on the 12 Volt side protects the connected accessories against current surges/shots. But on the 48v feeder side a fuse would protect the DC-DC converter or the 48v battery source?
@raczyk4 күн бұрын
I have a 20 amp, 12 V. DC to DC step down. My horns are only require about six amps. Are the 6 amp horns safe to connect to a 20 amp twelve volt source? Do the horns only draw as many amps as they need from the converter?
@Corn-ped4 күн бұрын
Yes that is safe. They will only draw 6a.

Great video mate. Question - Is the hall sensor for the QS motor in the same wiring harness or is it a second one connected to the motor controller. Nothing that came with the kit actually connects to the hall sensor 🤷♂️

This video is so useful. Really all your videos are. The instructions on cases and other parts is almost non-existent for most parts. Mixing your info here (and on a view other videos) with the peugeot 103 clymer manual got my engine completely rebuilt and running with a cdi. getting the remaining hardware to properly mount my kit to my frame this weekend and should be able to ride it around then!

Cold weather must make governments stupid. Similar situation here in Canada. We used to have minimal restrictions on mopeds- a cheaper license plate, no driver's license requirement, etc. We now require a full motorcycle license, insurance and a regular plate. Needless to say, no-one is ponying up all of the requirements for a full motorcycle license, and then choosing to ride a speed-restricted, single-speed 49cc moped!

your reg should have the required info so you dont forget what bike it goes on...
@Corn-ped9 күн бұрын
In MN you don't need to keep your registration so it usually goes in the trash once you put your tabs on. Writing on the plate is the easiest. Also if you skip a year on your registration. it falls off and the DMV won't look up what the plate is for you
@Wouldpkr9 күн бұрын
Im not sure its required to keep here(lots of folks loose it between sticker renewals), but its always a good idea to have it in the glove box if youve got one. Here in Il, if you show your id and give us your plate number we'll tell you whatever info we have on you and your vehicle. for Free!

That controller looks really good. I like the Votol controller but it took a while to learn and figure out how to get what I wanted. It was a lot of trial and error, which I enjoyed since it was my first time doing this. But I might choose one with better interface next time.

I'm in the middle of this right Now on my Maxi/Magnum Hybrid "maxi frame magnum forks and swingarm."mine is going to be a 12 volt DC system though!... All lights will be LED and have their own common 12volt DC ground totally independent from the frame also the 12 volt lighting Coil ground will need to be floated from the frame.All circuits LED headlight/ LED gauge lights,...LED Tail light,... LED brake light,...LED directionals and 12volt DC horn will have their own fuses via a ATO fuse block.only the ignition will remain stock 6 volt AC points system which does use the frame as ground as was stock.The 12 volt lighting coil will be regulated and rectified via a Treats regulator/rectifier. this will require an entirely new wiring harness which i am building now from a set of schematics i drew up.wish me luck?

If you have a ZA50 or a motor that spins the other way you would have to weld this together to spin the opposite direction.

What about engines that spin counter clockwise? Like za50. O use a Ratchet adapter that you can set to turn either direction.
@Billy-burner21 күн бұрын
You can just turn the freewheel the other way around 😂😂😂
@Corn-ped21 күн бұрын
Yeah for a counter clockwise engine I would have to build a different one. I tried a ratchet adapter but when the motor kicked over the ratchet would reverse and get jammed up.
