Wanna go a little crazy? Take a reaction ball, draw numbers 1-6 on the ends of the ball, add the last 2 numbers you see before catching, and use that for your odds and evens. Also adds reaction to the equation.

I think juggling is a great “intro” to hand eye training. Or warm up??
@goalietraining Жыл бұрын
It could be and especially if someone wants to learn to juggle. If the primary goal is becoming a better goalie, then there are better ways to train specific skills (I explain it more here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmbEfnuigaubd7Msi=YS3LO-JEZHQEflfy ); but if someone really likes juggling or wants to become a better juggler, then that is totally fine too.

Awesome Video, gonna try this on the ice as well with tennis balls shooting from behind the net into the wall banking it back to the goalie/net facing the wall a reasonable distance away and see how that works. "1 ball, skate to the left post, a 2 ball, skate to the right post." See how that goes. I have a big skill range amongst my Goalies that I coach and getting them to track the puck all the way into the glove, getting that glove out there in front, so they can see it, is a challenge. Love your videos, I recommend them all the time, and show them to parents, and fellow coaches as well as some Goalies, so please keep doing what you do! As a Goalie myself, catching and retaining is my biggest struggle, has been since I was a kid so showing these videos to my own collegiate coach to try couldn't hurt for on and off ice practice ideas.

Maria my son is looking forward to meeting you in Vegas next month. I have a question about the numbers on the balls. I am guessing that the same number on the ball that after a few throws you know what number is on that colored ball. So should you use all the same color to stop from cheating? Or can/have you written different numbers on the same ball? Maybe I missed that on this if you did. Thx
@goalietraining5046 жыл бұрын
I would love to go to Vegas next month, but I haven't been invited to a camp there. I have different numbers on different colours, so it isn't consistent like that. So there could be a red ball with #3 and a red ball with #2. Have a great rest of the summer - have fun in Vegas.
@jdhrap6 жыл бұрын
Hockey Exercises you know all these camps all over get a parent confused. Thought you were going to be in Vegas for USA Hockey 15U event....maybe I’m getting that confused with AXIS camp in Richmond BC???? LOL. Thanks for the clarify on the balls/numbers. I saw the blue/red/yellow and thought you could cheat the numbers after several repetitions. Thx again.

Yes I did - the goal is to say it as quickly as you can identify it and that was when I picked up the number, if you give it a try you will see it is pretty hard to pick up as the ball spins, etc. Give it a try and in the meantime, I will keep practicing.
