I had the same thing on the blower in my 63, I just had it fused and kinda the same thing, the wiring was mostly new, I ended up putting a relay in and no more problems!

I fought blower/fuse issues for months in my jeep. Finally bit the bullet to tear the whole heater control panel out to replace and come to find out one of the screws from the dash pad had vibrated out and into the contacts of the control panel causing a short. I haven’t finished the whole video yet but definitely something to ponder about

I’ve been driving my neon since 2010 without a heater blower motor and it turned out just the resistor went bad. I’ve been avoiding it for almost 15 years

Mice repellent- 2qt water spray bottle and 40 drops peppermint essential oils. Spray on your wires inside everywhere and under the hood on everything. Respray about every six months. I did this with my RV in storage and no problems. Plugged holes and exhaust with Sos sprayed with peppermint spray and under my RV no problems

You should get a can on Deoxit for cleaning up electrical contacts. If you can spray some inside the light switch it will dissolve the corrosion without having to take it apart. I have used it on electrical plugs on cars and it works great.
