Puerto Escondido is a laid back beach town in Oaxaca, perfect for surfers as you can find here the best waves in Mexico. We stayed 4 days at Zicatela Beach. We surfed, released baby turtles, visited the best beaches around Puerto Escondido and tried the famous Oaxacan cuisine.

Puerto Escondido was perfect to lay back and relax. Enjoying the ocean, surfing and trying Oaxacan cuisine without crazy tourist flood is truly recharging. The mindset here is very special and different from rest of Mexico. It reminded us of a less explored Costa Rica. What do you like to most about Puerto Escondido? What we should visit next time?

I’m not sure which city you will visit in the Yucatán but probably Playa del Carmen . I’m curious to know if Puerto Escondido is as humid as Yucatán

Hey there! Puerto Escondido is also humid, but not as much as Yucatán. In general the weather is not as hot, I assume due to the ocean. We were staying in Tulum and Isla Mujeres.
