This was great! We actually just bought a condo on the port side two weeks ago and cannot wait until we can get down there! We will only be coming down 3-4 times/year to start and renting it out the rest of the time, but PM has definitely stolen our hearts! We appreciate all you are doing and hopefully we can meet up sometime! Thanks!

Would you consider buying and if so what, where and why. Thank you for your advice and time.

hi L S. Are you asking if we would buy in Puerto Morelos specifically? If yes, we are definitely considering buying in Puerto Morelos. Currently we are renting for the year to get the feel of the town and the different areas which is what we would suggest for anyone before buying. We also suggest renting before buying because moving to Mexico is a big lifestyle change for us and for most and you may find out that Mexico is not a full time option for you and you would prefer being a ¨snow bird¨ and enjoy Mexico for 6 months and ¨home¨ for 6 months. Our considerations are leaning towards the Colonial side as there are more options for houses, better pricing and we enjoy the feel of the local flair with the option to go the beach side when we choose. As far as specifically which area on the Colonia side we will end up I can not answer as of yet as we are still learning what they all have to offer.

@@3suitcases2022 wow thank you for such an honest response. I'm hoping to move to Mexico in five years with two small dogs from England so defiantly one way. I really love the area of Puerto Morelos, but I know I'm really bad at getting out and about so also thinking of the gulf of Mexico as you can live blocks away from the beach and dogs are allowed so would make me walk on the beach twice a day, so very very torn. I enjoying my homework watching great you tube videos like yours.

That is very useful information thank. You answered a few of my questions. I am interested in buying a condo or house as well. But first I'm staying there a few weeks. How are the mosquitoes in that region? I did a little research and it seems to be a problem at certain times. I know I've been to Cancun many times and never had an issues in the hotel zone at least. They must spray like crazy.

Thank you. Mosquitoes and no seeums ( those really tiny bugs that bite) are definitely around sunrise and sunset and they are hungry.

How far is it from the port side to the colonia side? I love this Q &A because I’ll be there Feb 4-8 so coming up soon.
@3suitcases2022 Жыл бұрын
The Colonia is about a 5 minute taxi ride from the beach. I would say about 2 to 3 miles from our place.

Great video guys! Very helpful. Our destination this winter we hope to check it out. We are from Canada and typically medical insurance is paid via our credit card up to 65 yrs old, than have to search a private company. medical insurance expensive?
@3suitcases20222 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! As far as your question on the cost of medical insurance, the cost varies depending on your personal situation. Some will cover only Mexico, some will cover Mexico and the rest of the world besides the US and some will cover Mexico and the US. Some people just choose to pay out of pocket as medical care in Mexico is pretty affordable. Wish I had a more specific answer to your question but insurance in Mexico is still cheaper than the US or Canada.

@@3suitcases2022 thanks guys. Either going there this winter or Sandos Eco Resort with the kids but will pay Puerto Morelos a day visit. Enjoy!

Why would you bring pesos? I just bring enough for day 1 then go to an atm in town for best rate - way better than an exchange place or in USA. Does PM not have banks with atm machines? (My experience is in Puerto Vallarta)
@3suitcases2022 Жыл бұрын
it's just more convenient than having to stop at the ATM´s. We have found that the ATM´s do not always have money available. It's just our experience and it seems easier for us. PM does have multiple ATM´s and banks. But if visiting compared to living here it was just easier in our experience to have them when you get here so you can just enjoy your visit.😃
