I can see a mixture of Yoruba (Nigeria) and Lingala ( Congo) in the dance steps. The drum style sounds more of Lingala. It's amazing how these Children of Africa managed to retain their Africaness, despite all they've been through. Amazing.

Yes 🙌🏽 I want to see how much of my African side I have bc my mom’s dad is AfroBoricua and I want to embrace my African side. I also want to embrace more of my indigenous Taíno ancestry. I’m learning Eyéri which was one of the languages used in Puerto Rico by people of Taíno descent.

Yes it does! El mayohuacán (an indigenous instrument) is used in bomba.
