The hardest and most rewarding thing is to bring your people together to make your island right. The reward to take responsibility for yourselves is the greatest joy and love you can feel for each other, don't let hate blind or take away from the loving and beautiful people you all are. Let the leaders rise who empower the people to succeed and achieve together without expectation that they are automatically deserving. Get tough Puerto Rico, and make your ways functional again!!!

I'm seeing this 2 years later, and I'm still mad at my "government", they didn’t do shit to help us, WE HELPED EACH OTHER! even though some of us lost everything. Oh! And like 4 months ago, the people found more FEMA supplies hidden in a warehouse. Beds, food, batteries, water, EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE for us to at least “live better” during the emergency.

Some of them do. Remember the attempted assasination of the POTUS by a Puerto Rican nationalist? However, somehow, the sentiment died down. But I'm sure the spirit for independence will be reignited after this hurricane. A people can't live in shame like this forever,

A natural disaster is a natural disaster. It means severe limitations and very slow recovery. I should know. I was here and still am. I consider the help we got in the mountains was pretty efficient. And we had no power for 6 months. The the upper crust had their electric power restored in 2 weeks. Go figure.
