Hey Tim, I’ve seen other CDC flies that use different techniques for the CDC tie in, (clips, split thread, etc.) Would you recommend the technique shown here for most CDC patterns?...seems a lot simpler.

Good looking fly, would you fish this as wet fly emerger or more of a surface dry? You mention drying the CDC off, so I assume you are trying to keep it on the surface. I am not that experienced in using CDC to know whether or not the material works well on an emerger style pattern. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

About the finished fly: do you sometimes trim the bottom flat? Also, what about CDC for the body too? Great pattern. I'm just mentally tinkering, that's all.
