@@martinrobinson-h5e I would agree with you if they did not put people through the 3rd degree when you want to adopt an animal. DISCLAIMER: not all shelters are like that but too many of them are way too hard on the prospective owner. I had my Yorkie for 16 years and one particular shelter was ridiculous. I gave all records references vet receipts even any holistic meds and quite frankly it was just plain stupid. These people I went to turned me off to the point (to the tune of 3 hours) where I will never go to a shelter again. I also had 15 people between family and friends to verify my diligent care with her for 16 years when Yorkies life span is usually around 12 years. This woman was a RELENTLESS control freak and really turned me off. So understand please… there are those of us that are compassionate and loving and have a more than sufficient home but it’s sometimes the people that are in charge of adoptions that have personal issues and make it difficult on people like my husband and I and we paid for our pug from a breeder and my calico was given to me. Adoption may be for some. I am NOT anti adoption but after what we were put through and quite unfairly? That will never happen again. Adoption is a beautiful gesture but not if you have sufficient income a lovely home and more love than we can give in a lifetime and we were scrutinized and spoken to like we were not worthy. Never again. This woman had issues. I don’t need to beg for a pet. And again? Not that all places are like that but that was our first and LAST attempt at EVER trying to adopt again. We are very happy with our two babies and we cherish every minute with them every day as a retired couple. ADOPTION IS NOT FIR EVERYONE. Sorry.

Bit of friendly advice: clip his nails because they are far too long. Start early and often with pugs because if you don't they quickly turn into talons that are impossible to clip short without quicking them and they become complete drama queens about having it done. We just put down a 14 year old that we adored but had horrible long nails that could not be clipped short like they should without hurting him and making them bleed simply because we were ignorant of keeping them short from the start. We also currently have an 18 month old whose nails are just little stubs and don't even touch the floor, and will also gladly let you hold her hand when cuddling.

Hey thanks! This video is a couple years old so I did in fact learn this the hard way lol. But now his nails are grinded once a week and his vet says he’s happy with how he’s walking on his paw pads properly. I’m still trying to get the quicks shorter but they are much better than they used to be. 😊 Luckily he’s happy to have his nails cut. Also, so sorry for the loss of your pug! sending love your way.

Hi, I have a 3 year old pug (turning 4 this month) and I was wondering what your pug’s diet is like and how many minutes (per day) you walk him/she as I’m trying to get my pug to a healthy weight.

Hey! 😊 I feed him Kirkland brand chicken and rice and then I give him freeze dried beef or chicken treats the majority of the time. I probably walk him like 4-5 times per week for about half an hour but he also gets exercise in the backyard. He’s a very hyper boy so he moves a lot on his own. I think playing and zombies really helps too! Hope this helps :)

Bowser got his nares widened, palate done and his neuter all in one. 1100$ in Alberta Canada. Hope that helps 😊 the vet said he didn’t super need it but I wanted him to be as comfortable as possible.
