Puget Sound Resident Coho / Lingcod Fishing Area 10

Marine Area 10 Puget Sound Resident Coho and Lingcod fishing.
Hooked on a bunch of shakers and kings, then went to catch some lingcod using live bait herring. caught a couple undersized ones, bunch of rock fish, flounders, rat shark and dog fish.
Met @Dansawfish at the live bait store.

Great episode! If I could share something about the Lings..Even with the herring being a bit smaller than Sand Dabs, you wanna make sure you let those lings actually inhale the bait. Sometimes they will still come up, check em out and either nose punch them or try to bite their tail off and make sure they dont swim off. Hard sometimes to tell between bottom and a nice keeper ling bite! Just crank down them and try not to set the hook. They will either drop the bait or the slack will allow them to break the line or bait off. Usually you get way stronger bites when the tide begins to move over 1 mph...They want to snag that food and run back to their den. Also, Sand Dabs will help keep the rockfish at bay a bit more. Hey thank you very much, very informative. I’m still new to salt fishing so I’m learning. I appreciate your input. I used live sand dabs in previous videos. And I was told that later in the season you have to downsize your bait that’s why we went with herring. But next year we’ll try again. Thank you for watching 😊

No problem! Lingcod Fishing is so much fun. You're doing great. Watching them pull down on live bait is the best tense moment you can have. Lol. We had Lings biting on Sand Dabs up until Thursday, which was our last trip out for the season
